What color can I paint my kitchen that doesn’t clash?

I hate my tans walls in my kitchen but at a loss on what color to paint instead i have cherry cabinets, black granite counter, stainless appliances and a brownish tile floor suggestions?

A warm white would work. A muted green might be nice (could bring out the reds in the cherry).

Is the wall on the right the same color as behind the stove? The right wall reads a neutral beige; behind the stove looks mustard yellow, possibly due to the rangehood lights.

I know it would look better with no storm, but with our winters I would worry a lot about the doors (especially the one with the glass) getting damaged. Also, screen doors in the summertime are a must so we don't roast! concrete, thanks for the link. I didn't know about this particular company, and it's always good to hear a testimonial from a happy customer! Sombreuil, those doors are drop dead GORGEOUS. They look really wonderful. I couldn't build a door myself (I wish!), but perhaps I could buy a very basic model and then dress it up like you did with yours. Columbusguy, thanks! When you say "full view" door, I assume you mean a door that's basically just a frame with no ornamentation or board in the middle, correct? To answer your question, the view from the side porch is currently of two long, wide porch shades that I purchased from Coolaroo, LOL. They are striped and they actually doesn't look too bad. The big Queen Annes on the next street over have similar shades on their porches so I figure if they can do it, then my little house can too. I think until I win the lottery and can buy the house next door to fix up, the shades are my cheapest, quickest fix for an unfortunate view. ;)

The colors I see in the close-up of the pattern are beige, rust and blue or turquoise. Since it's a busy pattern I would look for a rug with a large, plain pattern, perhaps stripes, which have those colors in it. Or, choose a solid carpet in any of those three colors. It would really depend on what other soft furnishings you have in the room as to which of those colors you choose. A soft grey might also look good with this chair.

thanks! Hi Linelle, it's the wall colour that's got a green undertone to it. I like herbflavor's idea of the bluey white (I guess teal-y white if there is yellow in the formula?), although I have other blue things like curtains, textiles and plates that might add balance... I was thinking I would do a monochromatic yellow/caramel/white palette with the main elements. But when I cover up the walls with my hand and imagine the blue-y white, it looks really nice... Yes, I have a stainless fridge and stove. I have the BM paint deck. Is there a way to tell from the paint chips what colours are in the formula?

Having thought more about it.... I don't think their painted gate is a problem re blending with your door etc. But if you painted your side of that fence the same color as their gate, it might be overwhelming and limit your choice of colors for plants in your yard. I think it was dchall above who suggested a charcoal color for the fence... That might be a good choice - it would recede into the shadows when you plant in front of it, and be neutral enough to go with their colorful gate, your door, and any choice of plants that you plant against the fence.

@Lindsey Brown sorry it took me a while to get to some mock-ups. I used the Benjamin Moore online tool for these; color names are only guidelines since the tool can only make its best guess for how a color will actually look in the space.

Cawaps, those are nice, especially the greens.

Lindsey, the new photo shows that you really do need paint that patches! :) Current color is bad with the (very pretty) cabinets. Cawap's colors are good because they match the cabinets and are also friendly with the old color in the neighboring spaces.

Thank you! I've lived with this kitchen for almost 3 years and never knew what to do with it the sample pictures truly make a difference i love the greens and never would have went that direction. going to grab some paint samples and see what they look like on the walls

I know sage is trending, and that's a concern for me. Remember the remorseful barf green of the 70's, colonial blue of the 80's, and mauve of the 90's?

I would suggest white with a touch of warmth. I feel tan, beige, and gray clash with the cherry cabinets. Could you consider painting the cabinets white? Then a softer beige on the walls (like BM Nature's Essentials)? It would brighten up you space, in my opinion.

While I like the greens with your cabinets, I don’t think they work well with your floor. I would look at some warm whites. Either way, paint a sample where you can see how it works with your floor tiles.
