help!! which color works better?!?
Comments (3)Ooh! Pretty! What kind of tiles are you using? I really like the white tile. For some reason, I don't care for silver in the bathroom. Although, it does seem like you should add another color to the mix, to liven it up.....See MoreCounter or Bar Height, Which Will Look Better?
Comments (14)We had the same question in two areas of our kitchen reno. Bar or counterheight for both the peninsula AND when I decided to enlarge the pass through window. We chose counter height for both, and and so happy that we did. Here's the peninsula: and like Nathan mentioned -- we actually have alot of newpaper reading and homework being accomplished and internet surfing going on the non-kitchen side of the peninsula -- Oh! and card playing: with this set-up we can get 3 people playing cards here, too! My daughter likes to make cool decorated cupcakes for her friends, and this large area allows her to spread out and make an even bigger mess . . . Oh, I mean be creative. This was formerly a wall that we took down between the kitchen and DR. When I have a buffet, I take the stools and move them to the pass-through overhang -- shown here. This was the passthru window that had a "bump-up" -- we flattened and enlarged it. I like the counter height all through out the kitchen. And I apologize to people who may be sick and tired of seeing pictures of my kitchen. But so many helped me, I just want to help people who had THE SAME questions I had when I was planning!...See MoreWhich fabric looks better; or do I need to repaint:(
Comments (29)By painting the room tan I decrease the colors in the room. The floor is a natural oak color, the desk is a live edge walnut, and the cabinets are IKEA Laxarby (very dark brown). I feel like I have the tans covered;) I love color and will keep some version of blue on the walls. It is a peaceful room with a great view of fields and trees. I probably will go with the current color on the walls, oil the stone, and do the Duralee. It was fun to read the comments on the piles stone (ETA what is a piles stone? I think I must have meant oiled stone). Thanks so much. Thanks for the link to the pricing. I will take that figure to the design shop and see if they will come close to the price. I don't need the cheapest. But I like a little competition. I feel the need to support local shops! I had the greatest sales help there....See MoreWhich flooring looks better? Comments (18)Robin, I haven’t installed it yet. It’s on backorder until April, we will be installing in May. I have been living with the full size plank samples I ordered in my kitchen for a couple months now and they are wonderful. No scratches, cleans super easy, no stains or fading, no dents although I haven’t really dropped anything large on them yet....See MoreBrandi McFadden
