Comments (48)Hi Jasmi, I do Jari Love's Ripped 1000 three days a week for one hour. I do little half hours here and there on my exercise ball (sit ups,etc) or weight lifting while I watch TV (10 lbs). Then I go hiking 2-3 days a week for 2-3 hours. I found a friend who wants to lose weight too, so it works out well. We were up to six miles a day last week, but I took a week off because my husband was going out of town and I wanted to spend those afternoons with him. We want to go hiking this afternoon but it's 90 degrees out. I'm not doing anything this afternoon!!! Maybe lift some weights tonight when it cools off. But I'm also concentrating in other ways. Walking to pick up my dd at school (1/2 mile round trip), parking furthest away from the shopping center, gardening, walking the dog, etc. I stand up at work and do jumping jacks when no one is in the office. Sounds silly, but it revs up my metabolism. I also eat a big breakfast. I've heard that's really good to do. I have a hard time eating in the morning, but i force myself to do it, and I think it helps get me going on burning calories because my body knows it has enough and doesn't feel depleted....See MoreCare to join my experiment?
Comments (2)I'm still in the planning stages but I think I will be getting a Wolf induction cooktop. Not sure if I want the 30" or 36" and need to learn more about the boost features. No idea what 3000 W to a boost of 4000W means, other than there is more power but do you really need it and if so, when ?( boiling water?) Would I use that large burner on the 36" very much and is it worth the extra money? Comments (24)Make a list of everything you need to store in your kitchen. EVERYTHING - including oven mitts, dishtowels, tupperware, etc, including whatever random junk drawer/tool storage you usually like to have in the room. Take everything out of your current cabinets and measure them, then group them into how they'll be stored in your new space. If possible, plan for one empty cabinet in addition to all the spoken-for cabinets, and spend some time really focusing on how YOU move through your kitchen. Are you happier opening drawers or cabinets? Do you like some things at waist-level? What counter height is most comfortable for you when you're working? Since standard-height cabinets try to shoot for whatever the median height of a likely user happens to be, a lot of counters end up too low or too high, and it makes prep work a pain in the rump. If you fall outside of the median height, try to plan for at least one surface at a height that's perfect for you. I failed to dump out my cabinets and measure stuff before our remodel in '05, and man, have I ever spent the past nine years paying for that mistake.
