33 inch SxS fridge shopping
Comments (28)Well I have had the fridge nearly a month now and we are still liking it. HH Gregg tried hard to find me a crisper to replace the broken one. They pulled one from another stores last floor model but at first gave me one from a bigger model and it didn't fit but they were able to get me the correct one from a different store next day. I am glad I didn't get a side by side... I just think in the narrower size I needed the compartments would have been too narrow and the freezer too small. Having the freezer on the bottom is different and took a little to get used to but once we did it works out fine. I love having the refrigerated items at eye level and easy to see and reach. That more than makes up for the freezer on the bottom and having to bend a little for it. The freezer baskets are nice sized and easy to fit items in. I did have an issue with the signal arm of the ice maker sticking yesterday and not allowing it to make more ice. I fixed it before I was out of ice and all is fine. I would think that's not a big deal with ice makers even though I never had one before. sure is nice to hardly think about making ice and always have it. I am very happy with the purchase and glad I came here and was steered to the French door. I would say anyone looking for a 33" opening should give then a look....See MoreNarrowest counter depth FD or SxS free standing frig?
Comments (4)Remodel, I love my Liebherr. It is over 2years old now and I have a built in model not fully installed yet but I have been using it for two years. I can't tell you how much I love it. It is a 30" model and I fit a lot of items in it everyday. There is only one bin that is a plastic bin with it is clear acrylic and is very sturdy! The prices have gone up since I purchased mine but if you hunt around, you may luck out and find a floor model for sale. I got mine as a floor model from Expo when a customer ordered it and never picked it up. Mine also has an ice-maker which has performed flawlessly. Good luck!...See MoreGE Slide-in Range and Fridge...Opinions please
Comments (1)Honestly, I can't speak for either of your particular models but we did have top of the line GE Monogram fridge and freezer units and thank goodness our dealer bought them back allowing us to get credit towards a different brand. Our GE fridge was quite a good breeding ground for a mold colony (according to GE it was operating perfectly within normal parameters and there was nothing they could or would do to solve the problem) and the freezer was so frost ridden that the build up prevented the draws and thus the door from closing properly. UUUGGG. That was my experience. I'm glad to be rid of them and won't purchase GE again. But like I said - those are not the models you're looking at and you may have a different experience....See MoreElectrolux or GE profile SxS fridge???
Comments (2)Thanks Pricepal. I have researched ad nauseum and that is my problem LOL The consumer report user reviews (32 of them) gave this GE model one star. J.D. Powers rates electrolux 4 stars across the board except for price. The salesman at Lowes told me that Electrolux came in and replaced the ice makers , but then he said they are still getting them back. I do think that when people are unhappy they are more likely to post than if they are satisfied. What is happening with Kitchenaid fridges( heard it from the Whirlpool rep) is that they have switched to the lower grade SS, the kind that holds a magnet. It tends to be a bluer color. The higher grade SS has a warmer look to it. You can still find a few older models on show room floors that have the higher grade. Electrolux, GE and samsung are the only ones of the free standing units that seem to be still using the higher grade SS. Even Bosch has switched to the lower grade. I was all set to buy the Bosch until I did my magnet test. anybody else have an opinion or experience with either? It seems that most of the comments about Electrolux on this board and everywhere are about the French Door style....See Morelikestonehomes
