What tremendous help you all have given! Thanks for the compliments too, I'm awful at accessorizing. When I came home one morning I discovered DH took it upon himself to hang the iron pokers on the rock. I choose my battles carefully and if it pleases him, so be it. lol. I'm going to do some picture shopping here at home & hopefully I might find the right one. I also like the candle holders to the left that Beverly kept there. I'll probably change out candles to white instead of the b&w check. Or, I'm leaning heavily in getting a small lamp for the mantel instead of the light above it. Thanks!

Thank you, GreenDesigns... The builder we are talking with got me in touch with a "Designer" from our local building supply store. They will do all the drawings and 3d renderings for us. The designer prefers a roof with gables, the builder said shed roof was easier and much more affordable. I was just looking for extra ideas. I am waiting on a visit from the two of them together here, to come up with a plan. I am hoping I can meet them with a clear vision, but maybe they will have a better plan!

I see a porch on the front of your home and a deck on the side. A porch is a covered shelter in front of an entrance. A deck is an open wooden extension to a house. I was wondering if you wanted to add a deck to the front of your home, or redo the porch and railing. The posts for your porch are load-bearing as far as I can see. They cannot be cut off and capped. But perhaps you want to extend your porch out from under the overhang, in which case that part would be a deck, and you could cap those posts. Because decks are exposed to rain there is a gap left between deck boards so rain can drip through. Most means of hiding the area beneath a deck is therefore open to allow moisture to dissipate and prevent rots. The photo below shows an open horizontal board enclosure and also uses cable railing. You could, though, use the same rock as is on the front of your garage to close in the under deck area as long as sufficient venting is provided. I added this to your existing porch below. This would give visual continuity to the design as well.

Would not even try center it with ?built-ins? in the entry along one side. Putting it clearly on one side is the better choice. Do carefully consider on which side of the entry it will be hung and, importantly, which side of the door you want the hinges to be on. Are you right handed or left handed and what position for the door knob is most comfortable for you. Is your home more "formal" or less so -- would you want to consider leaving a "window" open in the kitchen wall. In the entry, do you actually need two cabinets, requiring the side/end of one be against the front exterior wall, or would it be practical to have the hinge on the right side of the door as you approach it from the outside, with door knob on the left, and have the door more to that right side, giving you an opportunity to not only have a hall tree and/or cabinet or bench, but a narrow table against that left wall with a side light with glass above the table top height of that narrow table -- a table/cabinet that could be used to "catch" purses and/or or cell phone and charger or a message center of some kind.
