Is it still a good time to break the pup off the mother?
Comments (4)When I repot I usually soak the pot for a few minutes to get all the air out then water when needed. Your mum will probably send out more pups. Give her some fertiliser to help. If they come apart easily a knife isn't necessary. I usually try to pull the pups off before using a knife....See MoreContractor taking a long time to break ground
Comments (8)The soil is silt loam which does hold moisture. However we have a four foot deep test hole near the foundation site and the water after it rains is usually half way up the hole. My issue is that on the sunny days that hole is dry but nothing happens at the site then when it is a 10 - 20% chance for rain the next day he does nothing because it could rain. He insists that he wants the foundation in almost as much as we do but I don't see progress. How do I get progress on my build?...See MoreGood time for building, bad time for loan
Comments (5)Diddo! We are due to break ground in about 2 weeks and have had a hell of a time getting our loan. We ended up getting an iterim (sp?) loan because the one time close was nearly impossible for a new construction. We own our land free and clear yet all banks around here were still asking for 20% down. Our loan is only 132K our land value is $28k. We are building a modest home but our dream home none the less...at times I felt like giving in and buying a home but we just couldnt find the right one. My builder has 3 custom homes that he has been unable to sell since Jan. 08 , this just didnt look good to a lot of banks. Then on top of that we are so young (23 and 26) that our credit rating (about 703) was okay but the history just wasnt long enough. We started our loan process in April and have been strung along by the "3 to 5 business days" line since then. It finally looks like we are going to close though so we are pretty excited. We are ending up with 6 percent interest on a 30 year fixed loan through FHA. However, if we end up with atleast 20% equity come final appraisal then we will end up with a conventianol loan....See MoreIt's time for a break....
Comments (14)Corgilvr, I hear ya. Last fall, we desperately wanted to replace the carpet in the kitchen. We pulled up the carpet and the sub-florring was a nightmare, so a friend said her brother who is very good at laying tile would bid on it. He was very good, but he took FOREVER. Believe me, we do not have a large or intricate floorplan, but he did the job "between jobs", dates, going out of town--- you name it. I got sick and tired of having our refridgerator in our dining room, our kitchen table in the middle of the living room and everything displaced. We lived a month like this. The night that I sat in my car and cried as I drove to get carry-out was it. He had just finished and my fiance and I needed to clean up and move everything back. I had not noticed that the tile guy did not cover anything,--- and I mean anything--- when he grinded down the old linoleum to lay the backer board. He also had a fan going at the time. So, a thick layer of micro-fine dust was everywhere,--- in the dishes inside the kitchen cabinets, the pantry, on pictures, in the dining room chair pads, --- you name it, there was dust everywhere. Oh, yeah, all over the textured stucco walls, too. We cleaned for so long and so hard afterwards. I'm still finding things and thinking, 'yeah, that came from when we had the kitchen flooring replaced almost a year ago.'...See More- 4 years agolast modified: 4 years agoravencajun Zone 8b TX thanked summersrhythm_z6a
