The shrubs that block sight lines to the front door need to be removed. Can you add photos? The one you have is a good overview, but doesn’t give enough detail. Stand about 30’ straight out from the front door and turn your body so you are facing the left property line. Take a series of photos from the same place by rotating your body to create a set of slightly overlapping photos that span from the left property line to the right property line. We need to be able to see location of first floor windows, existing beds, walkways, front entry, etc.

White trim, white around the windows. SW Attitude Gray. I think you could do a lot with landscaping. We can't see the entrance and that is usually the focal point to the front of a house. The right side of the house dominates as it is more forward and two story. For that reason I decided not to paint the gable in another color. It would just draw more attention. The porch area will remain as is and already has the board and batten style, we'll just give it a fresh coat of white paint. I hear you on the columns, I suppose I should have been more clear. We trend towards modern but don't mind the craftsman-type style as well since some homes on our block are craftsman. Thus we thought the columns would be a nice touch regardless. Garage doors - seem to be in good condition so really wasn't looking to replace but I'm open to refinishing them in a gel-stain perhaps. I've seen some folks do a wood colored gel-stain the looks decent so I can try that. Our front door is hidden but we replaced that as well and need to decide on a color to match the exterior.

What's your budget and your DIY skill level? Some thoughts: Low budget, low skill level: --Clear out all the play equipment --Lose the green trim and paint all those parts and the garage door the brown of the roof. --Paint the front door a soft turquoise --Replace the side lights by the front door with much larger ones in a bronze finish: Big bucks, big effort --Pave the driveway. It makes a terrible impression. --Create a walkway from the road along side the driveway all the way to the front door to make your entrance inviting. Use dark brown pavers for the walkway. --Create a deep front garden bed with stepping stones to the stairway. Get a small garden shop to choose a mix of low shrubs and perennial plants native to your area to plant the bed with the stepping stones in the middle. Doesn't need to be curved like this, but this is fairly simple, again with some stepping stones within the bed to the stairway. --Get straight curtains on the inside and keep them open for a lighter, clean look to the house.
