What's a reasonable cost for plexiglass in a custom vanity?

We had our contractor's cabinet people build us a custom bathroom vanity. The total cost for an 8 foot wide vanity + installation + countertop fabrication was $5200 (see picture below). The plexiglass part itself cost $800.

I can't help but feel like we got ripped off, but I wanted to see what others thought. The plexiglass feels like a $20 cheap piece of plastic, and it's not even built into the door. It's literally just clipped onto the back of the door. Each piece is around 18in x 6in.

Is $800 for 4 pieces of plexiglass clipped on in a custom vanity like this a reasonable cost? And what about $5,200 for this vanity? We live in a HCOL area.
