les917 - the answers are no and no. No TV, and we cannot (and I don't think want to) move the fireplace. nanny2a - thanks, you are totally right. The coffee table is shown slightly in the wrong spot. I envision it being a coffee table sitting in front of the large sectional (hence wanting it to be the length it is). It will not be sitting in the center of the room like shown. Does anyone see any concern about clearance between the chaise and the fireplace (where one would walk to go from center of living room into the dining room). What kind of clearance do you think is needed/what is the max length and width I could get away with for a chaise/daybed in that area? And does anyone see an issue with the fireplace sitting in the middle of the room, and nothing really being oriented towards it? That is one of my primary concerns with the layout I've put together...

@jck910 - Thank you, we really like the sofa and chairs. I'm not sure the sofa would fit well facing the fireplace, as there would not be sufficient space between the sofa and the dining set. There will be no TV in this space - it will be a conversation or curl up with a book area. I will definitely right-size the rug once the furniture is laid in place. @ Stage Right - I will upload other angles when I get home later. Thank you both.

If you want to keep the sofas in same spot I would set the TV up in front of the Bay window and find a TV stand with storage for some of your children's toys/projects. That or place the Tv on the stair wall and set up the couches around that. I think the key is finding something that can store your childrens stuff so you can open up the room.

One idea might be to add a very short wall on the left as you enter the living room so the opening to the living room is the same width as the entry ... and, by doing that you could put wall to wall built ins on that end of the living area, with or without a tv, and still create two separate sitting areas. I don't understand the "bar" against the solid wall behind the pantry and refrigerator. If you changed the pantry to a "butler's pantry" with a pass thru window, that would have made more sense. Is your "bar" a cabinet something built in? Have you considered either closing or narrowing the door between dining and living room and/or creating your pass thru bar there with your piano in the adjoining corner adjacent to the fireplace near the dining room wall? https://www.decorpad.com/search/butler-pantry-pass-through
