Hello, we really need to paint our 1926 home. I hate the current color. Almond and maroon... not my style. But I think those colors match the reddish-brown roof. We are looking for ideas that will match the roof, but want to stay away from beiges and browns and almond colors. My husband was thinking a gray would be nice, but our interior colors are all shades of gray. I was thinking a white and a bluish-green trim color. I'm drawn to cooler colors, but not sure if any will work with that roof. Eventually we will be replacing the roof and changing it to a more charcoal tone. I'd also like to stain our front stoop another color other than concrete. We are open to any and all ideas. I was given an internal deadline of March 1 to pick a color. :) Help us!! Thank you!!

Not a pro and I think your home is fabulous as it is. I think it needs a low boxwood or low red barberry hedge to curve in front of the stone. I like the solidness of that stone and wouldn't replace it with stacked stone, either. Paint the existing stone to match your stucco if anything. I think the small windows on the garage look a bit out of place. If you do feel the need to break up the uninterrupted stucco you could paint the eaves/fascia board a more exciting color and a broad line of same color paint on the two bands of the curved areas - sorry, don't know what they are called - but they sure give it that deco streamlined moderne look.

well, this is the problem. I would love to re-stain it. However, this is Californian Redwood and is endangered now, expensive, and old. There are sooo many areas needing to be redone and I am afraid it is not salvageable. If I can manage to keep some of the siding sections, perhaps I can just replace the bad siding areas and do a mix. I just don't know if its possible to salvage

I like the Kendall charcoal, on the house. However, it definitely does not go with your brown colored roof. I also like the garage door, painted the same color as the house, regardless of what color you use. I see you have some stone walls there. Pick a color from that stone for the house, that also goes with the color of your roof. What you actually have right now, looks very nice.
