kitchen faucet.....pull down or pull out sprayer?
Comments (19)Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in here---As a plumber, I've noticed that both Moen and Delta are going to the nylon hose. Is it better? They haven't been around long enough to determine that. Only time will tell... The pull out seems to be more popular than the pull down, mainly I think because the pull out faucets are cheaper that the pull down. However, the prices are coming down on the pull downs...Moen just came out with a new model, the Arbor, that is priced comparable to the pull outs. I personally like the looks of the pull downs better.--The Captain...See MoreRetractable Pull-out/Pull-down Kitchen Faucets
Comments (12)Of course, everyone uses their faucets differently, but I'm glad my delta doesn't retract automatically. As I'd mentioned in another thread, I pull out my faucet and fill large stockpots, resting the head on the edge of the pot - using it as a pot filler. It frees up my hands to do something else. I also find that if I pull out the hose and wash out pots or whatever else needs to be washed, I get less splashing if the head is lower in the sink. I'd hate to fight against an automatic retraction feature. When I'm done, I just use my hand to push the faucet head back towards its dock where the magnet attracts it the last inch or so. Comments (5)Just to be clear, the very tall Dornbracht with the spring on the neck is called a "Professional" faucet or a "Pre-rinse" faucet. Use those terms so that everyone can know what you are talking about. I've inserted the pic at the bottom of this post so people will know what we are talking about. The shorter faucet without any spring and that has a pull-down spray is simply called a "pull-down" faucet. I've used a few pre-rinse faucets, and they vary in ease of use. The spring on some of them makes them very stiff to pull on and to direct the spray (Blanco is one of those). Surprisingly, the one I found easiest to use, and with the most flexibility both literally and in the features it offered, was the inexpensive Chinese import Kraus #1602. If I had the height clearance that is the one I'd get for all of about $200 LOL. I know Dornbracht is a very high-end brand, and I think any faucet of theirs that you choose should be good. I would not redo any part of the kitchen just to fit in a pre-rinse faucet. I don't think it's worthwhile, just MHO....See MoreTouchless kitchen faucet?
Comments (28)I have this model from Koehler. It works perfectly. Note you need an electrical connection under the sink. When I leave town I just turn it off by pushing in the handle. To operate you just wave your hand or move a pot or bowl under the sensor. Go to the Koehler site to watch video. I’ve had it about 2 1/2 years with no issues. Note it is expensive but the quality is excellent. No something you will find at local box store. It is also heavy. My plumber said it was good quality https://www.build.com/product/summary/1632478?uid=3873519&jmtest=gg-gbav2_3873519&inv2=1&&source=gg-gba-pla_3873519!c9985097409!a106468653491!dc!ng&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0c6N3a6Q7wIVC8zICh3REQNKEAQYBSABEgJEDPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds...See Morewdccruise
