Wordle anxiety
Comments (58)I would also be skeptical of a person who claims to almost always get the answer in 2, especially using the same starting word. I think getting the answer in one, two, or even sometimes 3 guesses (depending on whether your starting word is good or not that day) is luck, but there is skill in avoiding a loss. It's a matter of recognizing possible word patterns, making sense of the information that you get from prior guesses, etc., more than luck. Obvious exceptions are words like "watch," where it can also be catch, batch, hatch, latch, match, etc. There is some luck involved there....See MoreAm I the Only One?
Comments (47)I play Wordle every day. Canuckle not so much as even though I'm a Canuck I cannot figure out that many 5 letter words that are "Canadian". Wordle is usually pretty easy. It's just a process of elimination. Start with 1 five letter word that has very common letters (I used Wheel Of Fortune as my example: RSTLNE. I won't say my start word but it has 4 of those letters plus one more..... Then following the hints, you should end up with the correct word by the 6th try. I've only lost twice in the 3 months I've played. Worldle, I've given up on. Only had a few countries that were super easy: Australia for one. Who couldn't get that one? But for the rest of the planet, I really need to take a geography course again. lol Name a country and I could probably tell you what continent it's on but show me what it looks like, and I'm "doh! I dunno!" As for the rest, don't have time or patience. I'm a Candy Crush person and they cut into my CC time. ;)...See MoreSunday's Brain Game-----Solution
Comments (33)I thought some of them looked familiar, but I didn't realize the whole puzzle was a repeat. I missed 9 this time, and probably last time, too, I don't remember what I had then. But I did get the bonus this time! The second or third time I looked at it, about to give up on it, it just jumped out at me. I can certainly understand you wanting to wind down, Jasdip, you've been doing this for quite some time now. And I appreciate that you've done it, it's been fun. But pay for the puzzles to post here? Ridiculous! Rusty...See MoreOh oh! Trying to keep us on our toes? Wordle
Comments (30)I normal play on my ipad where I have my daily stats/streak but earlythis morning while waiting for a vet appt, I played on my phone. I got the "hot topic" word in three guesses, and was surprised they would use that word (not knowing anything about NYT changing it). Then I got home and went to play the same words on my ipad to keep up my stats and was surprised when my starting word showed two green letters rather than the three yellow had on my phone. I realized then the NYT had changed the word before I played the game on my ipad. Easy word tho - got it in two guesses which was a better score than what I had for the deleted word. i saw the story later about NYT changing the word....See More- 4 years ago
