Comments (3)Nice job. The pictures are so helpful. I could build one now from the pictures. I did one very similar 8 x 8 ft with a single slant on the roof back about 1972. I did the door in the front. cut out for a big window. but otherwise pretty similar ideas. I did it without drawings. I just figured it out as I went along. Trying to make 8 x 8 work out. Unfortunate I did not set it on cinder blocks and it did not last long enough. I also set it up and then put on the walls. I cut the door out of the plywood first then put it up. Just a little different. Oh yes I also used what I think they call textured wood on the sides. they use it for modern houses. it has slots up and down for a finished look. I think it might be called texure 111 siding. I used the narrow width. Here is a link that might be useful:...See MorePlease help me, I am totally new at Apartments!
Comments (2)I don't know how big Lawton is, which means it's probably not big enough for what I was going to suggest--and that's a youth hostel or something. If you were moving to NYC, I'd suggest you get a room at the YMCA on the upper west side, and use it as a base while you figure out what to do, where you can afford to live, whether you'll be there longer, etc. But those sorts of "single room occupancy" places, or youth hostels, aren't very common--they're usually only in large cities. Or, if they're present in smaller cities, they're kinda skeevy, bcs some of the folks in them will be people who can't get it together quite for unpleasant reasons. (though if you can find one, it might be But, you might call the Chamber of Commerce and ask if there's any sort of residence hotel in town, or if they've got any ideas about finding a roommate situation. and roommates.com had a share available for $230/month--most folks would rather have someone they know will be around for a while, but they might be able to work with you. If you've got any connection w/ someone in the Army at Fort Sill, they might be able to help you find something--I don't know if anyone lives off post, but if they do, there might be an Army-run housing list of some sort. I know I stayed for a while ON post in not-too-expensive housing bcs my Army brother signed me up; I don't know if that would work. You'd have to have an Army person to speak for you. To get an apartment on your own (or even as a roommate), you need proof of an income source--in other words, a job, or someone WITH a job who will co-sign for you (in other words to legally commit that they will pay the rent if you can't). Comments (5)I'd get rid of the corner pantry, move the range and fridge down, and put tall pantries to the right of the fridge. And put a prep sink on the island--maybe if she has a nice, efficient layout she'll cook more, and with two nice work areas, maybe you'll cook together....See MoreMoving into a new apartment... please help!
Comments (0)Hoping for some advice... I'm moving into a new bachelor apartment soon, and am absolutely terrible with interior design. All I will be bringing in terms of furniture is: A bed, frame is 220cm x 157cm A desk, 155cm x 75cm An area rug, 200cm x 200cm I also have a floor lamp, and an electric guitar with amp. I've attached the floorplan - if anyone has any advice on how to best use the space, I would be very grateful! I'm open to suggestions with regards to different purchases, however my budget is unfortunately very, very low; as a student I can't afford much. I realize this is somewhat vague, I'm very new to this and don't really know where to start!...See Morecooper8828
