I would say no. A black window sill will become a feature, when you don't want that. If it were white, that would be different.

Does your window set level with the counter already or is it raised with casing underneath? Kitchen windows will get splashed with water and anything else many times a day. I would change it to granite.

If it has casing, see if your contractor can do an "apron" of granite between the counter and the sill, with the finished edges of the sill slightly extended. Or, you could run your backsplash material under the sill.

Google "kitchen window with marble sill and apron" for ideas.

i took out the marble sills from 1980 or so...when we redid the entire first floor windows. they looked "dated" so I was told. I hadn't really thought about that much, they could have left them but anyway we put in very nice windows and spent a bit of time sourcing white oak sills ..I figured out a little different depth and thickness ....picked the stain etc. all ready for the window installers. Now I'm pleased to have the wood throughout . A wood window is nicer w wood casing and sill if you ask me. The issue is not that he "can do it" but what would the purpose be? If you have a cohesiveness with all the windows and there is nothing wrong I personally would leave it. we removed the marble piece. similar to the picture/.placed all wood /and the window frame is wood . I dont think a black granite would be that great.

Ironically, I’m having almost the identical dilemma today & was about to post it.
I think the flow will be more seamless with SW since the casing is SW. The brown window/dove casing /black line of granite may distract away from the beauty of the rest of the kitchen.

My contractor offered to put the same quartzite used on island and counters on my sill but since my window frame is already black, I might create too bold a sight line. Or would this be pretty? Thinking of finding a porcelain slab that resembles marble with faint veining to install as my backsplash, window sill, and wall since there’s so little space to cover.

@lvnlv I would do an online search for "granite window sill" and look at some images. Some kitchens look fine with a dark window sill and some look choppy (IMO). My contractor also stated that we could look for a small granite remnant that matches the SW Dover White casing so it doesn't stand out. I think it would always look odd to me. We have over a half foot between the top of the counter and the window sill, so I'm not too worried about splashing.

They can look really nice, but it definitely depends on the overall look of the kitchen. Here I had no casing on the windows in a more modern kitchen, and the quartz makes a nice ledge.

But you can see that it doesn't draw much attention to itself, just gives a bit of a finished feel to the ledge. I can't see doing the same with black in most contexts.
