Need Help with Master Bedroom Bathroom/Bedroom Layout - 1970s house
Comments (5)I like my first idea best as far as use of space. I know people say not to put toilets on an outside wall. We had one in our last house in Iowa, but we had 2X6 construction. I don't know how high your window is, but I'm guessing the toilet would fit under there. The shower would be 5 feet long or shorter if you want a wider space to get to the toilet. (kind of tight the way I have drawn). You could do a 5 and half foot long shower and do an angled door at the left end to allow room between the shower and toilet. The vanity would be about 7 feet long, unless you do a 60 inch vanity with a linen cabinet at the door. I would reverse entry door swing if you do that.. The second top right could work and you would still have a small closet. The bottom left plan would require waterproofing your front window. Hopefully someone will give you other ideas. The bottom right plan is bigger, but no closet. Each square equals 1 foot....See MoreMaster/Primary Bedroom Feedback Please
Comments (20)I would also switch shower area and closet. It will be much quieter for the bedroom to have the plumbing on the wall where the closet currently is. Also, I don’t think there will be moisture issues because the shower is far enough away from the closet. We walk through our closet to get to the bathroom, specifically designed that way, and there is no moisture at all. First, we don’t take 20 minute long steam showers and, second, we have two round, quiet, exhaust fans on either side of the shower. So put it an effective fan and I wouldn’t worry about it. But those are also pretty big closets. You mentioned beach house...second house? Just seem large if it is beach or second home. But perhaps you have other things to store? My hubs would not need as large a closet as I would either. ;) finally, the shower area does seem kinda tight and dark. Maybe if you switch it with the closet you could grab a few extra feet? Just some general air circulating around the shower and tub would be nice. Good luck!...See MoreNeed help styling primary bedroom
Comments (49)I haven't read through the thread but, a simple change is to switch the blue chair with the white chair. The blue chair in the sitting area will create a visual connection to your dark blue bedding in the main room, making the room(s) overall more cohesive with each other. Similarly, you have all dark furniture in your main bedroom and only white furniture in the sitting room. This is also contributing to the lack of cohesion you're sensing. Try putting some dark wood furniture in the sitting room and white wood furniture in the main area. Creating a balance of dark wood and white wood furniture in both rooms will help immensely with your design....See MorePrimary Bedroom vision needed!
Comments (5)I love the long dresser, the new bedding, and the soft pale drapes you’ve chosen. Here’s a photo that may inspire you to go moody with lighting, and maybe an upholstered headboard rather than wood. I also think your room calls for oversized art....See MoreStephanie Angelo
