Thank you all for taking the time to respond. It is very helpful. Here is the Guilford Green sample. At night it looks much more apple green. I might have to lighten it just a bit, but I think I am going to use it. The room is a NE and NW exposure, so it's somewhat dark. I think the grayishness of this color is really needed to keep it from being too garish. I want a nod to 1930, but yes, they used some pretty intense colors back then! Now I'm having second thoughts about green cabinets/white walls vs. white cabinets/green walls. I posted that quandry over on the decorating forum... I'm not sure about the backsplash yet. It will be tiled. But I dont have something specific picked out yet. It wont be bright and flashy though. I am now torn between a creamy color like BM Windham Cream. Or this morning I saw a maple kitchen with Restoration Hardware's Sycamore Green. The woman at BM thought that Windham Cream was too much like natural maple. WDYT?

Making progress! Busy day so far. Second coat of paint, one hockey game, interior and exterior window cleaning, and some more pictures. New color is BM Aura shimmer. It reads blue in real life, almost a matching blue to the Vancouver Day, in a good way. I don't find it conflicts next to the brown tile. The white paint is much better I think but I think the trim work needs work. I still think the windows are a little top heavy, especially with the top trim piece. It could be more rectangular. That said, there are a lot of rectangles in this view. Perhaps something to introduce a curve? I spent some time last night looking at window trim on Houzz. If this were my space i'd spend to fix the microwave situation. the walls are the problem as they have a yellow undertone. I dont see the problem w cabs and counter at all. Paint the walls the aesthetic white shown above. or a neutral bone or ivory or a white w more green undertone. stay away from yellow anything due to the true tan/brown of counter/floor.....Then I'd probably swap the glass in the vertical cabs for a smokey/frosted glass. I dont find the clear glass in that situation a plus at all. I dont see any yellow issue w cabinets from these pics........lighting assessment and a neutral wall color will address what you think is a yellow cast to cabs.....but probably is not. Money saved. Fix the corner w microwave.
