Miele XXL Steam oven Paired with Miele 30" Standard Oven

I am strongly considering the Miele XXL Steam oven and a Miele 30" Standard oven, but am looking for various ways to pair these two. I've been following a very informative thread that notes that due to the size of these two ovens (both have control panels and they are in turn stacked at a higher height than a traditional double oven), they end up being a bit higher than the norm. I am 5'4" and am concerned that a stacked set up will be too tall. Any other pictures or suggestions that you all have showing options for these two ovens would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

So you will have a cooktop and then these 2 ovens ? I guess my question is why not just the steam oven in the wall and get a range with the regular oven save a bit of money and no hassle about the height.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting, I was just asking myself this same question when I saw your message :). This would definitely be an option. I guess I was initially preferring a rangetop, so I could have the drawer space below for pots/pans, but I could consider a range with standard oven, then do the steam oven on the wall with a warming drawer. Does this sound logical? It's so great to bounce ideas off of others...

@pglover19 Oven wall behind broiler element is definitely harder to clean, but that's also a deciding factor if you want broiler element in steam combi oven that can be used with steam at the same time, or if you can live without broiler element and have smooth oven walls with few interruption that are easier to clean. If I am not mistaken, wolf (as well as v-zug) steam combi oven also does not have top and bottom heating element. Anyway, if you get a Miele pyro oven that has moisture plus feature, you can always opt for doing spattering food in the pyro oven. I am from Australia, if you got confused with hvtech42's comment.

I won't try to convince you on one over the other, but I wouldn't think dealing with two stores would bother me. In my case it really didn't matter because our remodeler deals with the brands enough that he wanted his own folks to install them, so we just had them delivered by the appliance center and he went from there. Bluestar vs. Wolf: I think you really just need to see them both up close to see if the open burners would bother you aesthetically. We really like them and like the look of them (they just look serious :). Each burner has its own cast iron bottom mold and top grate (I think the wolf top grates are double deep?), and clean up is really, really easy. We just use a hot wash cloth or sponge and wipe down debris after use...any salt, cooked bits, etc., just falls through the bottom grate onto a slide out catch pan below, which we line with aluminum foil and replace periodically (If it's wet food spillovers, then obviously sooner, but the bottom grate catches most things). If you really need to, you can just take an individual burner's set of grates off and scrub it with soap/water. The wolf is beautiful and was on our short list, so if you don't think you'd be able to live with the look of Bluestar, then you really can't do wrong either way. We were called by the afterburner BTUs of the bluestar and actually liked the more "component-like" structure of the grates/burners to clean as needed.

We are purchasing the latest Miele XXL CSO model and pairing it with a Miele 30” standard oven. I’d like to select a speed oven to serve as a microwave and additional small oven, and could do Miele’s speed oven, but due to a high price tag, I’m wondering what my other options are. I’d like options that pair well aesthetically with the Miele ovens. Below are pictures of the Miele ovens for reference.

If you are getting the Miele Speed Oven then it will work as a second oven. I have both the CSO and Speed along with a 30” wall oven. I mainly use my speed oven as an oven. It has a bottom and top heating element unlike conventional convection microwaves. It has all the oven modes as my CSO except for those needing steam. The CSO can only heat to 435 and the speed to 475. These ovens are more difficult to keep clean than a conventional 30” wall oven. There is no self clean mode and the Miele interior finish is not suppose to be used with oven cleaners like Easy Off. There are several threads about cleaning these ovens. I do not cook foods that produce alot of grease or splatter - those go in my wall oven or on the grill. I have had have my ovens for 7 years and they look not quite like new but almost - I have also not had to do a ”deep” clean on my CSO. I boil water and white vinegar to clean my speed oven. They are geat ovens but they do have their limitations.

So do you plan to have a MW, do you really need warming drawer , maybe post a plan of your space and see if others have some ideas . I like 30-36" wide deep drawers on either side of a range since I have alot of pots and pans I also likr each of those drawer cabinets to have split shallow drawers on top for gadgets and then the 2 deep drawers for pot storage. Post your plan hopefully you have an independant KD not a cabinet salesperson designing the space . Have you ever used a steam oven ? My only experience with them is in a commercial kitchen and I found they break down often so not sure about the residentail ones .

I do plan to have a microwave, but something small and tucked away in a butler pantry, as only to be used for warming up coffee and butter. I like your idea of deep drawers on each side of the range. We are in the very initial stages of working with an architect and builder, but need to be picking out our appliances now due to extensive delays.

I don't have experience with steam ovens, but have done a lot of research on them and though there seems to be quite the learning curve, I know it will be very useful for how my family likes to eat.

I am also considering the same. You know the steam oven acts as a nice way to warm veggies. I too will only use a small hidden cheap microwave to heat up our pet food. I use induction so water boils in less then a min. I plan to get the steam oven and use it for heating up food too. In a better way than a microwave. My dilemma is do I do the steam in the larger oven and a smaller speed oven/micro than I don't need a micro. Or a reg convection oven Miele and the smaller steam oven/convection. I am so confused!!
