I know exactly how you feel. I love this kitchen But I bought a mid century modern and the rest of the house is in these colors That room would stick out like a sore thumb and would not create a feeling of harmony. I am guessing that you picked Swiss Coffee trim because it works with your color scheme and that you wanted a softer look. If you look at m paint choices, I do have more color than most people, but when you look at a fan deck those teal blue greens that you are seeing are BM Quiet Moments, Beach Glass and Stoneybrook. I actually traded Beach Glass out for SW Silver Strand. Beach Glass had a powdery blue tone in mid afternoon sun so I needed something with just a touch more color/less gray (Chroma). I also tested Quietude, but it was just a hair too brilliant to go with the rest of my home. Colors always look more colorful on 400 square feet of wall then they do on a 1" square fan deck swatch or even a 1' painted sample. If I were you, before making any more decisions, decide on a whole home color palette. Take samples of everything you have already picked (flooring, cabinets, counters), things that you are bringing with you that you love and are not willing to part with and pick colors that work with those things. Looking at colors in natural daylight is the best way to see any hidden undertones and will get you close to where you want to be. You can tweak as you go along, but you know what the look and feel will be for the entire home. I always pick my "Colors" first, then a neutral that works with my colors, then a white that works with my neutral and colors for doors and trim. I generally paint the main part of my home with the neutral and do bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry (any room with a door) with my colors. I use the neutrals in the bedrooms/bathrooms and use the colors in furnishings and accents and art in my neutral rooms. My rule of thumb is to have 60% neutral/40% color and 10% accent color. The brightest colors that I think would work well with your white and give you a softer, but similar feel would be Rainwashed, Quietude, Tradewind, Rain.

I never start with selecting a neutral or white when I help people pick colors for their home. I start with the colors they love. To me the walls are the backdrop for the things that I will place in the room. The art, furniture, area rugs, décor. Everyone has certain colors that they are drawn to and buy over and over again. Look in your closet, look at the things you purchased because you fell in love with the colors. Look at your bedding and art. Figure out the colors that make your heart sing. These are the colors you want in your home. Look at what must stay in your home. (Either you can't afford to change it or you love it and don't intend to change it.) Add those colors to your decision making process. Now decide what neutral color family works best with what must stay and the colors you love. Here is an example from my own home. To do this I start with core neutral color families - I have my paint samples separated a bit differently than this, but for demonstration purposes I am using Maria Killam's color wheel. You don't need to use these colors - you can simply take some picture of your must stay/love colors. Put them together into a collage on your computer. Put a big white frame round the collage (on your computer). Create and save a snip of your framed collage. Upload it to SW or BM virtual painter and virtually paint the white frame with a bunch of different neutrals. Keep testing till you find a couple of paint colors that you want to try.

I would not expect to see southern light bring out green, unless you have a lot of windows near trees that the paint may reflect. In general, a south facing room will wash out a light color or warm it up (so you may see more yellow). Have you sampled it in your home? The fixed elements you have in your “open concept” room are important also - flooring color, countertop color, stone or brick on fireplace, existing trim, etc. Tell us about those elements as well - color doesn’t exist in a vacuum.
