Ann T - a ? about your Maple Cream Fudge
Comments (36)Okay, the maple syrup isn't moldy. Yippee! Monster puppy is being a dream. Have the extra large crate from our beloved GSD, 'Kota, who went to the Rainbow Bridge in June. It was totally cleaned and bought an new pillow for it but Sig isn't interested. This is a 96.4 lb. GS pup that was never allowed to be a puppy - no toys, no treats and rough handling. He has no bad habits, but really stresses out out times. Does love little bits of my cooking, though, if offered. ;) Now on to the yummy Maple Cream Fudge....See MoreYour favorite fudge recipe please
Comments (15)This is my favourite fudge recipe. Not as easy as the type made with marshmallow cream. This one is the old fashion kind that needs to be cooked and then beaten. Worth the effort though. Creamy and Smooth. Home Cookin Chapter: Recipes From Thibeault's Table ================= 1 cup white sugar 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup cream 1/3 cup of butter 1/4 cup of maple syrup pinch of salt vanilla . Add the two sugars, butter and cream maple syrup and salt into a sauce pan. Place over medium heat. Stir while bringing to a boil. Lower the heat and continue to stir slowly while the mixture cooks. After about 7 minutes, test by pouring a small amount into some cold water. You want it to form a soft ball. You might need to cook it for another minute or two. Remove from the heat, add a couple of teaspoons of vanilla and start stirring. It takes about 14 or 15 minutes for the fudge to cool and thicken. Pour into buttered dish. Option: Replace the cream and cup of white sugar with one can of Sweetened Condensed Milk and increase the maple syrup to 1 cup. To make Caramels instead of fudge, 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 1/2 cup white 1/2 cup white corn syrup 1 cup butter 1 cup cream pinch of salt vanilla Cook to almost hard ball stage. Let cool slightly, stir and then pour into butter pan or mini muffin tins....See MoreWhat is your favorite commercial? Least favorite?
Comments (47)Guess I'm just not watching as much TV anymore but I haven't seen many of these. Don't have a favorite at least that's been broadcast in recent history. 20+ years ago there were some really good commercials on TV and radio too for that matter but now it's mute or change channels. Least favorite: Political ads, that asinine St. Jude's commercial when mommy goes "I'M SCARED TOO!" (but at least it seems they pulled that - there's a different one now), any feminine "freshness" or the Viva Viagra commercials. (Elvis must be spinning in his grave... unless they gave him a Cialis when he died.) And I don't give a hoot about "Little" Jimmy's Johnson, sheesh. Even Terry Bradshaw wouldn't do that commercial. I want to say grow up but there'd be an unintended pun there. At least now there's a good reason for weight gain. Going to get snacks during commercials. Bring back the cigarette commercials. They were creative and entertaining at least. Frank Bartles and Ed Jaymes, we need you now more than ever though the Betty White & Abe Vigoda Snickers commercial is not bad....See Morefavorite fudge recipes
Comments (16)Dairy Free Marshmallow Creme Fudge 3/4 cup dairy free margarine (Fleishmann's No Salt) 3 cups sugar 2/3 cup Silk Vanilla Soy Milk 1 package (12oz) dairy free chocolate chip (10 oz package Enjoy Life chocolate chips + 2 oz (over full 1/4 cup) one 7 ounce jar Kraft Marshmallow Creme 1 teaspoon valilla 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional) (I don't use) Melt margarine in large saucepan. Add sugar and soy milk. Bring to a full boil over medium high heat, stirring constantly. Lower heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly to soft boil (candy thermometer 234*) Takes about 15 minutes. Remove from heat. Add chocolate. Stir until chocolate melts. Add marshmallow creme and vanilla. Add nuts if wanted. Pour into greased 9" x 13" parchment lined pan and let cool. Lift out of pan and cut into squares with sharp knife. Will keep on counter, but I usually store covered in refrigerator for longer storage. It stays creamier and fresher longer. This is the recipe on the back of the Kraft Marshmallow creme. You use a small (5oz) can of evaporated milk for the regular version. It only takes 5 minutes to cook instead of 15 for the dairy free. I haven't tried it, but have been told, that you can find vegan marshmallows. So could probably be adapted to be vegan....See Morecooper8828
