Comments (8)H & M and Leathercraft are too expensive and will not sell to you only a dealer the best way to go here is Fairfield. Too many companies are ripping off the customer by not letting them buy anything without a dealer buying it the dealer's price which is probably twice or sometime three times more depending the company you choose to buy from. It used to be that Hickory had a 20 mile area to look at different stuff for the same quality, styles, and at price value! Basically if you are paying a $1000 or more for a home office chair, you better go have your head examined! Better yet Office Depot would be better than a $1000....See Morepottery barn home office furniture
Comments (8)Hello. Late response to this so you may have already made a decision. I have the Bedford in white in our home office. We have an older Greek revival home with detached garage and apartment above (now the home office). Decor is beach cottage style as we wanted something happy while we were working. So the Bedford was the style we wanted. We did our own tops. The cabinets themselves look great. Quality is so-so. We have an actual "working" office we run all of our businesses out of. No employees at this location but all the business office items we handle. So they get daily, hard use. Plus store alot of files. We have several sizes of the filing cabinets. All drawers feel "wobbly" when extended, especially the big laterals. Also, none of the drawers are full extension (an annoyance with the children's furniture I have from them as well). So, its very difficult to get to files at the back. FInally, the way they configured the hanging file metal "supports" inside causes you to lose additional space in the front and the back. They are about a centimeter from the front/back exterior "walls" and files will get wedged in that area and they are very diffucult to get out without hurting your fingers. Add to that the lack of full extension and you never see your files in the back. Overall, they look fantastic and we have not had a problem with nicks, etc. as we made our own tops and the faces of the cabinets do not get banged up; however.....practical use annoys me daily. I would have gone with another manuafacturer had I been able to find a similar style. If you just want a place for bills, home reference files, etc...its probably fine but for a working office I would go with someone else. We had Bisley in our old home office which had a more modern feel and they were beyond great. Hope that helps....See MoreHere's a fun Quiz to find out your decorating style.

You have an elemental approach to interior design, certainly in terms of color, texture and (most of all) materials. You not only see the beauty in wildflowers but in field grasses and scrubland too..." As someone who really is as likely to photograph the field out back as the flowers in the yard, I'd say that's pretty accurate. (Then again, we do have a lovely field, see for yourself.) For years my personal mantra has been "Texture, texture, texture." But I have to say, my favorite part was: "You like it rugged and rustic in the bedroom." (Well, yes, but only if the sheets are clean.) LOL Here is a link that might be useful:...See MoreHome Office decor-suggestions
Comments (5)I work at home and the first priority in my home office is how it functions as my workspace. My husband works at home too and he feels the same way about function over style. We don't work the same. We don't have same needs. I don't like his office, I keep the door closed. He thinks my office is funny looking, he says "permission to speak" when he enters it during the work day. And that's rare . He will normally call or text even though we are in the same house. We are both "at work". I wouldn't want to be on a laptop keyboard or screen. I have full size keyboard and wireless, ergonomic mouse. I have 2 large monitor screens. The whole shebang is on a height adjustable stand. I stand as much as I sit. Lighting/Window coverings:. Since I am at work indoors it is important I can see out. I position my workspace so I can see out. To be honest, seeing your husband's desk positioned with his back to the window, forced to look at the coach and tv, saddens me. Have you considered turning the desk? To treat the window I would get a light filtering roller, solar shade and flank it with colorful panels. I would want to minimize the amount of the window that is covered when it's up to allow maximum natural light. It's purpose is to reduce glare when needed. Your husband's work space needs a task lamp. I don't know what your husband does but think about colors. Does he like a calming workspace or does he want a more energetic stimulating one? Right now with the wall color and the couch you are pretty somber. He may prefer you punch it up a bit with orange or keep the mellow vibe going with blue and olive. With regards to a rug, think about his chair. Will it have a plastic pad so he can still roll easily? Or is the rug just for over by the sofa? 50 hours a week is a lot of time in one space. Let your husband's work needs and comfort be number one and prettiness take a backseat....See MoreShadyWillowFarm
