Home Office Chair

Anyone know of a good home office chair. I like the look of leather with wood arms but like an ergonomic feel. One I have seen is by office star which has a leather seat but ergonomic mesh back. Anybody have a chair that is super comfortable that looks nice with a nice wood desk?

This may not be the look you're after but we have two of these chairs and trust me they are super comfortable. Afterall I sit at the computer for hours reading gardenweb! We bought them at Boyles for about $500 each.

freckles, I do not have experience with any of the chairs you posted. We wanted Knoll Pollock chairs, but their $1K+ price tag was prohibitive. We ended up purchasing refurbished ones on Craigslist for $150 each. That may be an option for you. Lisa

Need help finding a quality reclining home office chair

For quality leather desk seating check out Leathercraft or Mckinley Leather. Both of these companies manufacture in North Carolina and are considered high end. They both have plenty of colors of full grain leathers to choose from and a 5 prong base is standard on all their leather desk chairs. Seat cushion options include spring, down and firm. Most all of their chairs are available with a gas lift option for easy up and down and also a tension adjustment for when pushing back. Either of these companies should price below or well within your budget depending on where you shop. I have a pillow back full grain leather executive chair made by Mckinley leather that has a double pillow back and a spring loft seat cushion. I also keep a small leather stool or ottoman the same height as the seat cushion under my desk that I keep my feet on for most of the day. I usually am in my office from 7 until 7 each day so comfort and durability were huge concerns of mine and this chair is by far the most comfortable desk chair I have ever had.

I'm not going to comment on the how the color works. But as someone who has recently been shopping for a new computer/desk chair myself, I hope this is one you can try out in person to first make sure it's comfortable for hours of sitting, that it supports your back properly, and that it has a decent range of adjustments. I'm in the process of returning a chair to a local store, that is great to sit in but has weird, uncomfortable arm rests that can't be adjusted to a comfortable position for mouse and keyboard use.

Try Hancock & Moore or Leathercraft for quality home office chairs.

There are a wide variety of choices when looking to find the perfect home office chair. It is quite possible to find a chair that offers good ergonomic support and also perfectly matches your home office decor.A home office chair must be comfortable and flexible.

I just made post on another thread but I think Fjords by Hjellegjerde make a terrific office chair. They are ergonomic with great back support. The chairs are made in Norway.

Another company to look at for some nice officechairs is Distinction Leather. These will be similar to Leathercraft and Hanock and Moore but the cost will be considerably less.

H & M and Leathercraft are too expensive and will not sell to you only a dealer the best way to go here is Fairfield. Too many companies are ripping off the customer by not letting them buy anything without a dealer buying it the dealer's price which is probably twice or sometime three times more depending the company you choose to buy from. It used to be that Hickory had a 20 mile area to look at different stuff for the same quality, styles, and at price value! Basically if you are paying a $1000 or more for a home office chair, you better go have your head examined! Better yet Office Depot would be better than a $1000.
