What to do with this MONSTER of a fireplace?!?

I'm about to embark on a full home remodel. The biggest design challenge is this huge fireplace, which divides the living room from the family room. The brick matches the exterior (which is quite pretty) but unfortunately it clashes with most of my design plans.

I'm thinking of doing a lime wash to tone down the orange bricks, or perhaps completely cover the color altogether. The walls on the right side of the room are being removed/reconfigured and will be left with a 4' wide wall from the top of the hearth to the ceiling. The left side will have a 4' wide wall added to match. So it will be a stand alone fireplace with hearth-to-ceiling side walls for a bookshelf, to hang pictures, etc.

The floors will be a darker wood throughout, with light grey walls (agreeable gray) and white ceiling/trim. Both rooms have tons of natural lighting, and I live in Arizona so there is a lot of it!

I'll be getting some new furniture, with the aim of having a Restoration Hardware type of vibe.

I would love any other suggestions!
