Need small sink and toilet recommendations for tiny powder room
Comments (13)We are in the middle of a bathroom + mudroom/pantry/powder room remodel. The powder room is 30" x 7.5', so we have the same narrow width but some extra length. Now that the wall is up, I see how narrow the room is! We re-did a very small (5' x 8') full bath last year, and I needed a toilet that was narrow and did not come out too far. I used the Toto Promenade, round front. The model has changed now to the Toto Eco-Promenade, so the dimensions might have changed, but the width was only 18" and the depth was reasonably short. I have another Promenade that I bought a few years ago for the (old) downstairs powder room, and I will be re-using it in the current remodel....See MoreBest toilet for small powder room
Comments (7)Too late for Christine, but I just happened to come across this tiny 24" deep modern Italian-style dual-flush one-piece toilet (12" rough-in). That's about 4" less deep than the most compact elongated or regular round-front toilets. It appears to be sold (in the US at least) by only one vendor who sells through Amazon. The toilet itself seems reasonably priced, but shipping is expensive (and no Amazon Prime). My chief concern (apart from the fact that there are no reviews yet) would be how easy it would be to install in a small space because the description says: "No visible bolt covers: Bolts are mounted in the back of the toilet." The same vendor also has a similar-looking 25" deep toilet with a "self-cleaning" glaze, which I assume is comparable to Toto Sanagloss of American Standard Everclean. Here is a link that might be useful: 24...See MoreHelp with crazy small powder room.
Comments (14)I love that your house is so unique that way! So to the left is under the stairs? Do you have a little storage there or is it blocked off? I actually really like the dragonflies a lot. It's such a great house for that kind of detail. But I imagine it was a lot of work and isn't practical when you have peeling paint you need to replace. I like the dragonflies even better when you describe the black and white laundry room because it's so perfect and clever with what you have. Whatever colors you choose, I think the graphic pattern in minimal, contrasting colors is what works. I especially love that the dragonfly motif itself is both vintage and classic but the application and pattern repeat is modern. Ahh, it's everything I love in a room! I have seen black look good, and usually i say go for anything, but I'm having a hard time with the trend toward black paint. Usually I'm much more open-minded, I don't know what's wrong with me. I'm not opposed to dark, I love navy and I think dark can look fantastic. But something about a small, black room reminds me a little too much of a cloud of black, inescapable, angry thoughts. I might just need emotional help;) Even charcoal just feels moody, but black feels angry to me unless it's quite warm, which then isn't so much a true black. i know other people associate black more with fashion and style and even theater than anger, though. I think it's my anxiety, haha. if you really love it, do it, but if you're just thinking about it because you've seen it done well, I think you can do a lot of things really well in a room with that much character....See MoreTiny powder room - 59"x38" : need small toilets rec
Comments (36)It is the Alape Bucket sink. The problem is that it sticks out 14.25" from the wall. It is a glazed steel sink with a navy or gray PVC gasket at Rejuvination Hardware. I looked at it, too and decided that the only way to use it would be to drill into the steel to place the faucets. putting them above the backsplash would cause too much splashing, just as Enduring concluded, above. Since it is glazed and not porcelain, I think you could drill the holes without harming the sink. It still would not make it fit this powder room. You have to go read the requirements for space in front of a toilet. I believe that you must have 24" of unobstructed space in front of the entire 30" wide toilet zone. I believe that is why everyone is telling Jade BR that this design will not work for her bathroom. Any side-mounted sink invades that space. If she mounts this sink across from the toilet, it is too big and, again, invades this space. But a sink that does not protrude so far from the wall would not violate the 30" wide zone that comes 24" out from the front of the toilet. Cpartist, am I stating the problem correctly? https://www.rejuvenation.com/catalog/products/alape-bucket-sink-gray-trim...See MoreKathryn B
