We need of pictures of the four walls of your space which also show furniture and accessories from fixtures to cabinetry and even drapes please. Cohesiveness and flow takes all of these things into consideration.

You need a warmer wall color, something with a little redish tint. We had a similar problem with our fireplace and tested probably ten colors to find the right tone. I attach a photo of when we were testing & had not found the right color, and also a photo of what we chose. The top photo is a little greyer than in person.

This helps. The colour you currently have above your fireplace mantle is fantastic and looks like the darker paint patch to the right of the fireplace. Is it the same colour as the middle sample of paint on the wall in the second picture with the tree? It provides and contrast and is sophisticated. From the window and dining chairs that are no longer there, I am thinking that your space and taste is modern. If you are just starting to decorate, remember layering (from furniture to accessories and drapery) they all build on each other. If you go with a neutral scheme, be sure to include texture in your accessories and furniture or else things start to look flat very quickly. They don't need to match but they DO need to compliment each other and be items you actually love. Is there any artwork in this space? Wow! That window with tall curtains that have a slight shimmer in their finish should glam up your space pretty quickly and keep building on your fireplace if it is the focal point.

First thing you need is to learn how to sample the colors. When we see colors next to another color it really changes how we see the color. You shouldn't be just painting samples on your walls. The yellow is going to change how you see every other color.

You also want it next to the color your keeping. When you paint three next to each other your mind is going to compare them to each other.

You can order samples online through https://samplize.com/ or make your own using poster board or watercolor paper. (Watercolor paper ends up being more economical if you are doing more than 1 or 2 samples).

You can leave a 1" white boarder when you paint your own samples.

The advice you got above about needing a warmer color is accurate.

We cannot pick the perfect color over the internet because colors can really vary from one monitor to another and search engines and cell phones and cameras all do various levels of "Color Correction".

I would avoid anything with a yellowish undertone--the surround is gorgeous with brown and cream. A rich, creamy white on the walls would be beautiful in my opinion, perhaps even painting the mantle white also, to highlight the beautiful surround. If not white, I would do a light wood--careful not to get red or yellow tones, but white/brown towns.
