70's Mediterranean Colonial Exterior Remodel - HELP!

A. Wish

What do we do with this mishmosh of 70's rough siding, traditional brick and floorplan, awkward half rounds and rough hewn beams? Not into farmhouse style, tyring to deemphasize the spanish colonial elements. We'd like the house to fit in more with the traditional, center stair colonials in the neighborhood without breaking the bank.

We are NOT replacing roof, windows or doors, but are open to painting trim.

Our Goals:

  1. Add a porch overhang (round eyelash? juliet awning? build overhang over to the garage?)
  2. Replace wood siding (brick it in - then paint all? hardie plank board and batten?)
  3. Replace half-moons above windows (flat urethane panel and brick mould? fake windows? paint same color as brick? - not bricking in. A number of mason already told us why it will be difficult....)
  4. Do something with the current siding above garage (flat panel? dentil trim? vertical board and batten?)
  5. Paint everything. (Can't go too light in color-- recycled brick is rough, mortar joints aren't flush - trying to minimize varied exterior textures, not emphasize.)

Thanks for taking a look!
