I just talked to Mona who sold this cutting to me...she just abbreviated it on the cutting....what a sweetheart she is...."Thanks Mona!!!" LMAO!!!! Im having a blonde moment right now.... At least i can laugh at myself....hold on..still laughing.. OK...Andrew....you will have a "Golden Rainbow" when i send out your package... Could you take another pic of the front? Sit on the floor and snap one of the front carvings. Also maybe one close to the wood. Being able to look at an open door would help too. Not being able to see the grain, I am thinking it might be walnut. It could be oak. The Brits used a prolific amount of walnut, but also used oak on older pieces. From what I can see, it looks British. Definitely pre 1900. The two tab like braces on back indicates there is a missing top. These pieces were often used as a 'breakfront'. Or, a man's chest. It is too masculine for a female. Just so hard to tell from pic. Whatever it is, it has lovely carving on it. If you paid less than $50, I think you got one heck of a bargin.

Vinyl. Okay, you know what, I am feeling like an idiot. I contacted him several days ago off an ad and just touched base with him today. I was having trouble even remembering which ad was his, since I had answered several ads. I just went back and looked at his original ad, and even though he clearly said "Badger" repeatedly during our phone conversation and email exchange, the ad says Wolverine. No wonder it didn't send up any flags when I saw the ad! The whole conversation I was thinking, "Who the H is 'Badger'?" Too funny. This older gentleman may be a tad forgetful.

We just met a painter on Thurs. who was recommended by 2 friends. We needed one side of our home painted after being re-stucco'ed. Also thought I would get a quote for the hallway that I had just taken a week to remove all the wallpaper from. The deal was they would do the walls and ceiling, one wall extending into the family room. It would all be 2 coats, and 2 colors plus white ceiling. Our quote was $ 375. for hallway and $ 375. for exterior ( which included a sealer coat on all painted walls and prep ). Plus we would pay for all the paint used. We jumped at it. The painter and helper started at 7:30am on Friday and worked through until 4:30p and then started at 7:30a on Sat. (today) until about noon and all of it was finished as promised. $ 1000. for both including paint. We are thrilled with it. I will paint the trim and doors myself. It saved my hours and hours of work over the next few weeks or more. BTW...The hallway included 7 doorways that they needed to cut around. If anyone lives in the N.Ca area and is looking for a good painter, I can highly recommend him.
