Comments (8)Thanks everyone. Sunny, my stemware is gold. They were a wedding gift, more than 50 years ago. Creek, My tablecloth a rust color in real life. Looks good as orange though LOL. Karen, here is a pic of my mantel, I kept it simple. I think it looks better that way in this room, and no matter how hard I try I can never get it to look like some of the beautifully decorated ones I see. From 2014-11-16 (by Eye-Fi) Thanks again everyone Happy Thanksgiving Nana This post was edited by nana2010 on Mon, Nov 17, 14 at 9:26...See MoreChanging Things Up On Your Table This Thanksgiving
Comments (50)I grew up in the Rehoboth/Lewis area of DelMarVa. HarborHouse has an on-line order now. I've not personally ordered but have been to their main small town market when i visit my parents. (fill a cooler to bring home). Work and the crazy holiday traffic keeps us away from making that trip the last couple years....we will visit over xmas with three weeks off this year up-coming. The turkey leg recipe looks great! When we have made it home with all our extended families, we have a traditional T-day. I do most of the cooking because i enjoy it and make all things seafood the rest of the weekend. Oysters, (fritters/po'boys) crab, (soft-shells/and cakes)...scrapple till i puke, lol. When visiting DH family in SC, we cook extra turkey legs instead of a second turkey. Tradition. Once a dozen on the grill outside. Brined and stuffed. Now a tradition when we can make the trip. I have no issue with making a different meal excluding turkey. Such a good holiday and should not be complicated or involve stress. Make it with love and don't make what you don't like. Enough drama with family personalities, : )...See MoreHappy Thanksgiving! Post your food and table photos if you have them
Comments (20)Mimi's Brussel Sprouts Ingredients Brussel Sprouts, quartered (I used about 2 lbs) 1/2 cup craisins Cooked bacon lardons or thick cut bacon- depend on how much bacon you want! Olive oil to toss Salt + pepper to taste (For dressing) 1/4 cup good maple syrup 2 tbsp. white miso paste 2 tbsp. dijon mustard 2-3 tbsp apple cider vinegar 2 tbsp. chopped picked ginger salt to taste, if needed. *************** Pre-heat oven to 425 Prepare the brussel sprouts by tossing with olive oil to coat, then sprinkle salt and pepper. Toss again. Spread evenly on a baking sheet. Do not crowd the pan. Place in oven and roast for 15-20 minutes, until you see browning and caramelization. While the brussel sprouts roast, make the dressing by combining all ingredients together, whisking (or shaking in a jar) to make an emulsion. Check salt and acid level. You might want to add some salt, or more vinegar to get the sweet/tangy balance that you like. When brussel sprouts are browned to your liking, place them in a large bowl. Add dressing and toss to coat. Add bacon and craisins. Toss to combine. Serve right away....See MoreKswl
