Show me your Thanksgiving table
Comments (36)Oh, thanks so much, everyone-- my little paper mache fellow would be blushing from all the compliments (he's going to be just incorrigible to deal with once he hears about his popularity!) The witch's feet sign was a Big Lots find and tt's got little jingly bells on the bottom of it. It tickled me, too, when I saw it. There are so many cute things like that this year. And I'm a sucker for things that crack me up. I'm sure my fellow shoppers probably wonder what's wrong with me when I'm in the store giggling to myself over something silly. Ah well-- laughter helps you live longer. :-) -Jenn...See MoreThanksgiving Tables - show me yours, give me ideas for mine
Comments (24)Things got very hectic with Thanksgiving, Black Friday sales, etc. but I did want to take a moment to thank everyone for sharing their tables and to show you what I decided with mine. lv_r_golden: I'm swooning over the fall leaf theme--which gave me some inspiration for my kids' table. ladypat: Your small votive candles around the table make it look so warm and inviting. I tried to recreate that look, but didn't work for me, though, at last minute. Perhaps next year. gsciencechick: Lovely crystal! Do post pics of your new french doors. awm03: I'm in love with your dining room. The pairing of that table and chairs is truely inspirational. Joann: Your daughter has a lovely home and table. I'm so envious of her large dining room table! I ended up following Linda's advice to arrange the pumpkins on a tray. I added the fall leaves and pinecones that my DDs collected and came up with this: The I added a bouquet of flowers to the buffet: Here is what I came up with for the kids' table: Mine 9-year-old DD helped to arrange the leaves and pinecones for their centerpiece: Remember my friend who added a last minute guest? She gave me the prettiest hostess gift of two bird candles. I added them to my pumpkin centerpiece like so: I am now wondering how I can update this centerpiece for a Christmas look. I think I can use the birds and pinecones, but I need to swap out the pumpkins and leaves for something else. Any suggestions? Also, what can I do with the pumpkins now when I am done for them?...See MoreShow me your Thanksgiving table...
Comments (19)I'm a little late, but wanted to share my Thanksgiving table. I wanted lower centerpieces that didn't obstruct the conversations too much. All guest/host were able to see through and converse with each other easily. I sprayed rectangular terracotta pots to look like bronze. They turned out more of a copper color. The arrangement is made up of all fresh fruits, greenery from my yard, and store bought tulips. The chargers are bronze, although the one below looks golden yellow in this photo because of the flash. The gourds and pine cones are real. Some cones are natural and some sprayed gold. The things around the lantern are artificial and came stuck to the $4 grapevine pumpkins....See MoreName Three Things You Hope To Do Before Thanksgiving
Comments (20)1) bake 2) buy the turkeys (we're doing two small ones) and a few other things 3) pack up all of my lotion/soap/etc making supplies from the small multi-purpose room that is off of our dining room (we call it the cozy room because it's so small) so that it can be used to set up an extra (small) dining table to seat a few extra people. I did schedule a vacation day on Wednesday next week, so I can have a little prep time. I always find it really difficult to prepare for a holiday that doesn't have a free day ahead of time (meaning a non-Sunday or Monday holiday)....See More- 10 years ago
