How can we make room for our new addition in our small house?
Comments (2)^Agree with eld6161. First priority is the baby (congrats!). Use one of the secondary bedrooms for the nursery. Next is your husband's gaming space and a distant third is entertaining overnight guests. I know the need to nest is strong, especially during pregnancy, but I don't think taking on the basement rehab now is a good idea. As mentioned above, put those guests on a sofa bed or in a nearby hotel until you get the basement reno done - after the baby is born. Do the basement reno when time and budget permit which may be longer than a couple of years :)...See MoreNEW house help! How can I update/ modernize paint with Brown carpet
Comments (20)for sure paint the ceiling white. just use the white base straight out of the can. don't have it tinted! use a flat, ceiling white. painting the ceiling will have a huge impact on the reflective quality. if doing white on the walls, it's really going to make the trim look dingy. I'd redo all the trim (do a little at a time) and the ceiling, and reevaluate the wall color. if you still think it's too dark, try BM Pale Oak...See MoreHow can I make my home's exterior look more mid century modern?
Comments (5)I don't like the dark paint. With your light roof and light stone it looks like someone tied a dark green ribbon around the top of your house. A lighter color would be an improvement. I dislike the planters and would remove them if possible. I would remove the rail if it is not needed for safety. It is probably original but it makes the door seem inaccessible You can buy a full view storm door and paint it and the house door the same color. I love your lamp post. Do you have a porch light? I made an amateurish image of a lighter house with no planters. Do you think the stone is original?...See MoreHow can we modernize our 90’s built home?
Comments (2)I wish I could edit my post above. In regards to the half circle window, that is being removed and new cedar siding being installed when they replace our windows next month. We will be painting the whole front of the house. It is a darker gray, but is faded. Gray being overdone is right. It’s the primary color in this housing addition and I hate it. Our vinyl siding on the sides and back are a light gray, so need to make sure whatever color we go with it looks good as we are kinda on a corner. Tree at bottom tree will be removed sadly. We did not do the landscaping and I can not figure out why they would put a tree like that there....See MoreAnna Cambra
