Is there a down side to installing pantry rollouts onto shelves?

I'm considering a pantry with the rollouts installed onto shelves rather than onto the sides of the cabinet so that they are fully adjustable. I've never seen them on this forum though which makes me wonder if there's reason not to do it this way. Barker cabinets sells after market rollouts and has a video on their website showing how to install them. (I won't be doing after market but that video was the only example I could find). Does anyone have a set up like this or know if it's a bad idea?
