Can you use Ikea fittings? I'd ask at the Ikea fans website and see if they can help you. I know their prices beat everyone else's.

Drawers in everything that I could. Pullouts everywhere I couldn't (aside from uppers that were 14" deep), which was in my pantry. Yes, a pullout is an extra step as opposed to a drawer. But, when comparing shelves vs. pullouts, pullouts are infinitely more functional to get the things in the back. If it wouldn't have been such a budget killer, instead of my pantry being 30" wide with wide pullouts, I would have instead did pullouts that were half the width - but that would have doubled the number of glides and pullout drawers and would have been horrible for the budget. You might lose a bit due to the pullout itself, but you "gain" back real usable space at the back portion of the rollout that would be rather unusable in a deep cabinet. I saw someone who had a 30" pantry and just had shelves in there - WAY less usable space overall than what I have.

The cabinet is 24"x24" (the roll-outs are smaller, of course) and I could use wider roll-outs. However, only the lower ones are roll-outs, the uppers are just shelves. KD said it would be hard to reach over the sides into the upper roll-outs but I am thinking of changing the shelves to roll-outs too. Why would it be structurally unsound? I love my 36" base drawers as well as the 30" drawer in the oven cabinet, all 24" deep.

Thanks everyone! badgergal - yours are pretty much what I'm picturing for ours, just that ours will be a little wider. pawa - "And if you're accessing them infrequently, why bother having roll-outs" - The reason I'm thinking is that I would like to be able to access it easily when I do need those things. Just because I don't get them out as often, doesn't mean that I don't want to have them easily accessible when I do need them. Also, since it will be going up 8 feet and 2 feet deep, I know it would be tough for me to get to the stuff that might get pushed to the back and nearly impossible for me to clean the back part of the shelf. taggie - we will have one with drawers below like what you showed(almost all of our kitchen will be drawers), but I do want one area that has roll outs from top to bottom as an area for my high stuff will go easily. I like that small shelf area you have for above your soup - that looks VERY convenient and a great use of space! cat mom - Is your pantry divided into 3 sections? It seems like it is. Do you have a picture of it closed and shown in it's entirety? I hadn't considered three separate sections, but that might actually work well for us. Great idea about keeping that one with the height of only about 1" - seems very practical. Will keep that in mind. mmcg - I think that KD say they "never do" something to try to shy you away without thinking, "hmmm, that might be a good thing to start to do". I'm just troublesome enough to ask, "Well, why don't you?" when I'm told that it's never-done-that-way! :) aliris - What a silly KD...sure, it's going to land on your head if you are standing UNDERNEATH it trying to fish the stuff out. But, if the stuff rolls out toward me, I wouldn't be standing underneath it so much, therefore less chance of it hitting me, I should think. KD are good for many things, but some times I wonder if many of them ever actually use a kitchen to cook or just design a kitchen to look pretty, functionality be damned.
