Shantung maple or a hybrid?

Haven't noticed these 2 trees in previous years even though I've driven by this location often. Maybe this fall's generally mild weather was just right to bring out the colors(?) They are growing on a vacant lot, now wooded, that may have been originally owned (years ago) by someone in the landscape business. Larger of the two (left) has 3 stems. I'm guessing they are Shantung maples or possibly truncatum x platanoides. Bark is definitely different than typical Norway maples in the area.
