Yep, sadly the floor-mount type is indeed the kind we have...ah well! :) One of the two hinges sold by HoAH is a pretty close match for the size, though, so we think it will be feasible to retrofit it to the door/floor by filling a section of the floor (and maybe the door too, though fingers crossed that the fit will be close enough there). We have a really crazy floor situation where it was actually mounted to the fir subfloor *before* the oak floor with inlay was laid around/on top of it---so it was quite a feat to get the door down to begin with (though the flip side of that is that I suspect it's why the door was still in the house at all---too much work for past owners to get it off!) I ordered that one to test out and see, but was curious to know if anyone had experience with it or any of the others (or good advice on retrofitting!)

I'd check eBay and other outlets for discounted swing up hinges, if at all possible. Otherwise, how about a toy box hinge? They're weight-rated so you can check if the size of your door will work: Here is a link that might be useful: Soft-Close Toy Box lid support

The closet plan needs to be drawn accurately to be able to see that the door should open inward. Hanging clothes require 24" of depth instead of the approx. 18" shown in the posted diagram. Clothes rods that turn corners create dead storage. The clear space in the middle should be at least 3 ft wide. If the hanging storage on the left side wall (as you enter) was shown as 24", then the storage on the right side would need to be no deeper than 12" to allow a 3 ft open space. But even with that configuration the storage immediately to the left as you enter would need to be removed to allow enough width for comfortable entering and to allow access to the storage in the corner. Using an in-swing door might reduce the shelving length by a foot but IMO that is not enough storage to justify opening the door out into the bathroom where it would be in the way. As for whether the door swings to the right or left, you should avoid putting a door knob in a corner especially when there is an obsticle on the adjacent wall. Which way did it get built? There is really only one good way to swing this door and fortunately the contractor realized it in time to correct the designer's mistake.

I've used Masonite Capri solid core 80" and 96" doors in builds. Never pre-hung. Three heavy-duty decorative hinges were always sufficient. But I would check that the hinges are true loose-pin, so the doors can be easily removed for trimming as the house settles or to ease moving day concerns. Some loose-pin hinges are lubricated for life with materials that make removing the pin impossible. And you don't want that stuff on your bare skin!
