Hinges to swing interior door out of the way?

Are there door hinges that allow the door to wing entirely out of the way? Similar in function to traditional cabinet hinges?

The bathroom door when open takes up an additional 2 inches, which is too narrow for the wheelchair. If it could swing behind the trim molding it would be much easier than installing a sliding door or moving studs. Additional complication: a closet in the bathroom narrows the interior wall to 35 inches - moving studs means re-shaping the closet.

My very standard door hinges allow the door to completely open. Are you sure the problem is the actual hinges? Could they be placed too far inset on the door jamb?

Thanks, everyone! I went back to check the cabinet door and it doesn't open any wider than the other doors, so it's probably the usual 110 degrees. It's not a blind cabinet (I have another drawer/door on the other side of the peninsula since I didn't want to have to crawl inside to get stuff). I'll ask my contractor about buying a new door and installing it with 90 degree hinges to see if we can avoid hitting the sink cab. Actually, if I had to do it over again, I'd have put in a drawer base there instead and this wouldn't be an issue .. oh well! I'll think about installing a pullout.

Wondering what you ended up doing? I mis-ordered a very expensive tall Andersen door (also terratone). Reframing to make it work would be too complicated. Would painting the plain wood interior (to make it exterior) be terrible? And painting the now terratone exterior white, to make it the interior surface? Feeling very stupid.. (I placed the order, but double checked with the architect and contractor - all missed the mistake).

hey guys, thanks so much for your comments and sorry for the late reply. I'd definitely switch it if I had the chance to redo it. But my contractor, to be honest, is not that good and he made a big crack in one of my cabinets. I'm so afraid that he would break this cabinet as well when he drills another 3 holes, which he also mentioned that might happen. I think I can live with the cabinet opening from the right, though it's not ideal. I just don't want to risk more to potentially make it worse. Remodeling your home is really a painful process, so I'd highly recommend everyone else to find a trustworthy contractor and plan in details in advance.

probably custom.. as a homeowner researching glass tub and shower enclosures for a new build, I haven't come across any double hinged doors. Mind you I haven't searched custom options, just easy big-box buys. One thing I would be worried is that there might not be enough space to open one of the doors without hitting the toilet, but that depends on your bathroom layout and size.

We had a Dodge maxivan with 3 in the tree, enjoyed it till it rusted out

Installed the hinges, the effective opening is 2" wider and we could get the wheelchair into the bathroom. Now our family member can have the first real bath in quite a while. Much better than wipe-downs in a rehab facility
