Chairs to go with this table
Comments (3)The problem with most of the Bertoia knock-offs (and you can see the difference when you look closely) is that the front edge of the real ones slopes downward ever so slightly. The knock-offs don't, which makes them significantly less comfortable than the real ones. That front edge can be unpleasant behind the knees after a pretty short while. And although cushions help, the shape of the them has to extend over the edge, which also doesn't look right. And the knock-offs often are flimsy, whereas the originals are sturdy steel....See MoreWhat kind of dining table/chairs if I have walnut cabinets ?
Comments (27)I had a white Parson's table made over 40 years ago by Storehouse, but they have been out of business for years. It is 3 x 6 feet and clad with white matte Formica. It seats 4 or 6 and over the years I have had blonde wood and cane Breuer chairs, walnut Queen Anne-styled high back chairs, Mexican painted chairs with rush seats and some light wood short-backed chairs at the moment. I am thinking about some kind of black chairs for a change. The white tulip Saarinen table would be just as versatile....See MoreHelp on Island color for our Chosen wood- Rustic Alder
Comments (37)<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><md>Still in progress I contemplated left and right and could not decide but I felt like my natural instincts were there I just needed to learn to not second-guess myself designing your own home can be a bit crazy so redoing this kitchen took a lot of brain power I wanted something for all of us to be able to live in and be in without being overcrowded I call my old dining room the gathering place because that is exactly what we love to do have family and friends and enjoy each other’s company It’s hard to ask for comments because unless you unload exactly everything that is going on it takes a lot of time to articulate what you have to work with and I found that going with your gut is usually the best case We couldn’t be more happy we still have some things to finish like the backsplash that will be on a weekend when we are available to tackle it as far as the trim around the kitchen vinyl that will also be completed as well we were really nervous about not having REAL WOOD OR TILE as the rest of our house has some pretty unique charm that we did not want to cheapen- But to our amazement this waterproof floor will be perfect especially coming in from the pool area anyone who is interested this stuff just feels so amazing...See MorePottery Barn Toscana Pedestal table review?
Comments (20)An update to the above. The pottery barn website states (in the Q&A section) that the table top is smooth. Mine most definitely wasn't. Pottery barn has said they will refund me (including the shipping). It's so weird because other pictures online seem like the top is clearly smooth. I wonder if something changed about the finish??. I thought the legs might get in the way but they really didn;t and when extended six chairs easily fit. Anyways the table was basically perfect in every way... except that horrible, rough, plasticky, weird, sandpaper-rough finish on the top. If the top finish was normal it would be an awesome table. Sturdy and looked great. Oh well....See Morelaura kuhn
