Silestone Out - Black Caesarstone? Any pics?
Comments (4)I selected black Caesarstone for my bathroom vanity a couple of years ago. There were problems (to put it mildly!) with the installation, and the contractor had to switch fabricators and they could not get the Caesarstone. I ended up with a Silestone black. The whole job was such a fiasco I decided to accept the Silestone black even though it was not as nice as the Caesarstone. I felt the Silestone didn't have the richness and depth that the Caesarstone had. The Caesarstone did have the little sparkles that the Silestone did not have, but they were not a big deal to me either way. The Silestone looks good when wet or polished, but has a bit of flatness otherwise. You should be happy with the Casearstone....See MoreWould you install a Black Quartz countertop? Please help!
Comments (19)I think Caesarstone charcoal looks a lot like Silestone's Ebony Pearl. Black countertops are difficult. I know that I really want black also but I know it will show dust & dirt...I'm torn b/w the look of black and the look of black w/dust & fingerprints! :-) Have you looked at Stellar Night? We were considering this when we were planning on quartz. It has some speckles in it so it may hide the dust, but I don't know about fingerprints--it might though since it's not black-black like Absolute Black granite or Black Anubis Silestone. I don't know what Stellar Night would like in the "leather" finish, but it might work out fine......See MoreI'm Looking for reviews of Caesarstone Quartz
Comments (13)We have had Caesarstone Vanilla Noir since the holidays. So, a whopping 2 months maybe? We love the look and the edges look nice. The surface is glossy and shows glass rings and smudges, but I think that is a good thing. It is less shiny than polished absolute black though. It reminds us to wipe the counters and cleans right up. (Our last granite was a multicolor thing and I swear piles of food could hide on that thing.). It does scratch pretty easy, but we aren't too rough on things on the perimeter. I have some canisters that I put felt feet on and I put towels down when the workers come with their tools. If you are one to drag things across it, it will definitely show if the item is at all rough - like unfinished ceramic bottoms are. We haven't dropped anything on it (yet)....See MoreMatt effect quartz (Silestone/caesarstone)
Comments (34)At my last house I had Caesarstone Raven which is a smoky gray with hints of misty white running through it. It was beautiful and I loved it so much I'm actually thinking about getting it again in my current house. I compared it with a lot of different colors, and the color is just right- not too brown not too cold. However last time I made the mistake of getting it honed and it smudged constantly. I did wash it multiple times a day but it was ridiculously difficult to get smudges out. Everything made it smudge. After trying mfg recommendations, I constantly ended up having to do something the manufacturer said not to do and use other solvents to try to get smudges out. It was really bad when the Sun lit up the area. Now I'm actually thinking about getting Caesarstone Raven without a matte finish in my current home but I'm wondering if I would be better off trying to find a Silestone equivalent color. So far I haven't been able to do that. I like the charcoal soapstone in silestone but it has blue undertones and looks a bit too cold. Any good recommendation for a smoky gray that's not too cold or too warm so it ends up looking brown?...See MoreMarie Hunter
