Is it worth it to bring tender vegetables indoor in winter?

I have been gardening for about 2 years now, so it is still very new to me. I live in Buffalo, NY (zone 6a) and I am trying to decide which plants I should bring indoors to save for the next growing season. Last winter I brought in a habanero pepper plant that only produced two peppers, and this year I couldn't give away enough of them, it produced far more peppers than any of my other pepper plants! I am wondering if it would be worth it to bring in my cayenne pepper plant, Anaheim hot pepper, or mammoth jalapeno.

Also, this summer I grew several tomato plants all of which are in large containers. I know several articles state that tomatoes are not worth bringing indoors because they won't produce well, but I am wondering if anyone has had experience with second year tomatoes, specifically Super Sweet 100, Early Girl, Big Boy, and Beefsteak. I have grow lights and heating mats but I prefer to only keep a few plants, that will be worth the effort to keep alive in winter.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated :)
