How is Your Weather Today?
Comments (18)A couple of degrees above freezing, they have a lot more snow in London than we have, about 15 mi. southwest. They're talking quite a bit of rain ... but it started to snow a couple of hours ago. That 25 - 50 cm. of snow that someone spoke of, translates into 10 - 20 inches for folks not on metric. I almost got stuck driving out the lane the other day, and was planning to take a heavy run at the bank thrown up by the plough on my return ... ... but the landlord had come and ploughed it all out of the way, so I could drive in the lane, rejoicing. He's really helpful at keeping the snow out of the way. I did get stuck while making a turn in a driveway in the city, a week or so ago, borrowed a shovel to dig myself out ... had told myself some time ago that I should carry a shovel in the car: evidently it was one of those days in which I don't hear (myself) too well. Anyway ... the next day, while leaving my place, I got stuck in the bank kicked up by the county plough at the end of the lane ... and laughed at myself for having neglected to put the said shovel into the car that morning, as I walked back to the shed to get it. It's there now ... and I was glad, this afternoon, as I got stuck again in what appeared to be a small layer of snow at the end of someone's driveway in the city when I was turning to take a friend where he wanted to go. Did a bit of shovelling, tried it again, little movement, so he, a very large guy, got out and pushed ... which got me out. ole jolyful...See MoreHow Is Your Weather?
Comments (21)Although a little colder than normal for this time of year, the ski hills are thrilled after the warm winter of last year and the resultant lousy ski season, the weather is our normal winter mixed bag. Some light dusting of snow so lots on the ski hills, some rain which translates into snow for the ski hills, some sun which translates into bluebird ski days, and some cloud which brings rain and snow. I don't ski anymore but my husband and kids do and so do American (which because of our lousy dollar are here) and European (which has no snow this year) tourists....See MoreWhere Are You and How is Your Weather?
Comments (42)I am almost snap dab in the middle of Oklahoma. The weather has been the most awesome kind for this fall. It was actually the kind of weather I would love for summer, instead of the heat that was here, when I returned here in July. Now it turned 20 degrees cooler, well, maybe only 15, but it's definitely fall here now. BURRR! and only 62 at 9 AM this Saturday, November 5. Moni who is not looking forward to the cold of winter!...See MoreHow is Your Weather Today?
Comments (28)Yesterday (Sat) was beautiful here, deep in the heart of Texas. Not sure what the high was, probably somewhere in the upper 60's. Sunny, light breeze. So I washed the sheets, hung them on the line to dry and put them back on the bed last night. Heavenly! How I love the way they smell after drying in the sun on a beautiful day! I use the dryer for them all summer, hanging out in the 90 plus degree weather just doesn't produce the same results, just a dry dusty smell. Today seems to be more of the same, it's 70 out right now. Last night was in the high 40's, coldest we've had since last February. What a treat these few days have been after all the long days of unseasonably high temperatures we've had so far this fall! Rusty...See MoreKathsgrdn
