Philodendron bipinnatifidum propagation.

Lisa Kelly

My neighbor has a beautiful philodendron. I watched videos on how to propagate but once I got to her home, it was a different type of plant, commonly known as a tree philodendron. It was to root bound, I didn’t know where to start a cutting. I took what appeared to be a newer “ trunk “ and cut beneath the soil ( which hasn’t been changed or fed in over 30 years so it was more like a mangled mass of roots ) and cut as low as I could, and placed it in water. Does this have any chance of growing? Obviously it is not that picky of a plant to survive in it’s original pot!
