Stop cat from shredding window screens?!
Comments (8)When we moved into a different house, where the windows were low and reachable by cat claw, it was evident right away that our four indoor kitties were going to scratch the screens. It meant sacrificing time lurking in the corner of one of the rooms with screens (where I would be behind the cats), but I stayed there and pressed on an alarm buzzer (the kind a woman might carry to scare off an attacker) every time a cat showed signs of interest in the screens. They learned quickly that trying to touch them with their paws would activate an unpleasant loud noise and were cured in less than a day. As I recall, I didn't have to repeat the process for all the screens in the house, either. I don't know if this would work with cats that have already been scratching screens with impunity, but I think it's worth a try....See MoreCats, Cats, CATS!!!! (sorry--lengthy)
Comments (24)Thanks all. We had a rather noisy night as the kittens played themselves out with Missy, I think she is just thrilled to have someone her age to hang with! There were a few crashes but nothing major! LOL! Anne, you are so right. They were re-introduced to our area about 7 years ago, the state started it 13 years ago in other areas. I don't know why. He did not have any idea how to rid ourselves of the fisher other than once the food source is gone he will move on. So we brought the cats in, the food source is gone, the dry food is gone by dark every night. We are surrounded by woods and fields so the animals can forage for a bit. Moonie, we may need to start a chapter of Cats Anonymous! Hello, my name is Lynn and I live with 7 cats...... Comments (11)Nannygoat, can you recommend a grain-free dog food? My dog has always been kinda itchy--he rarely gets ear infections but I'm ready to try a new diet for him. Maybe we'd get lucky and it's a grain allergy. :) (I missed the deleted posts but if they were asking how allergies could lead to infections, my guess would be that the excessive scratching breaks the skin and just opens you up to infection, especially in those delicate moist spots like ears.)...See MoreAll winter long #CatsLoveTrees
