Installing exterior shutters on radius-top window with no trim

I am putting shutters on my front windows with functional hardware, but have one window that is causing some trouble. It’s over the garage doors, and has a radius top and no trim on it, leaving me with no place to attach the hardware. I’m considering removing the radius portion at some point in the future as I don’t feel it suits the house, so I don’t want to go to the expense of putting up trim on that part. I can’t install the pintels on the clapboards because they are not flat.

Would it be weird to just put trim on the sides of the window? The shutters will only cover the lower rectangular part anyway. Or don’t put the shutters on that window until after we remove the radius, which may be some time from now.
