Any of your couch colors will work. Please be sure you have enough room for the chaise section of your couch. I know many people who regret having the chaise. Often a movable ottoman is a better choice. Do you plan on having a coffee table? End tables?

Hi Maddie, thank you for your advice! All of the couches I’m looking at have a movable ottoman rather than an actual chaise. No end tables, but possibly a boho type coffee table so it doesn’t look so empty with just a large rug and couch.

All of the colors could potentially work, on their own. With a red chair, though, I would go with the darkest grey.

And maybe put a beautiful throw on the sofa to tie in some of the colors.

Looks like you are open to seating without an ottoman and MCM as well. It’s never easy to narrow down a style or color and I‘m sure budget is a factor. Other considerations are comfort and workmanship. If it helps, we have had velvet couches over the years and our cats (with claws) and have never shown any interest in scratching. Velvet can feel quite boho, is easy to maintain, wears well and I think navy will be more unique and cozier than grey, especially with the colors you are using.

Although choosing a couch is a big undertaking, it‘s worth the effort. If possible, narrow down to a few and highly suggest testing them out.

I like the color of the couch that's shown in the pic of the rug...a beige I think. It really picks up that color from the rug, would look great with your red chair and give you lots of options for complementary pillow colors. Although navy looks good with the rug, I would not like it with the red chair. If you could find just the right color of a paler blue, it could look good with the red. But I vote looking toward the beiges and taupes if you want to pair it with red. Here is a room with similar colors and the pale blue as an accent:

Hey everyone thank you for all your ideas and the photos you put together for me it is also super helpful to visualize the space! I am definitely leaning towards a velvet navy sofa as it complements the rug colors best. As someone who always had a black couch who knew it would be so tough to decide on a style when it comes to incorporating various colors!

Now that I’ve sort of decided on a sofa color I will just have to figure out what to do with my red chair.

I would get the white couch, and cover it with two inexpensive washable throws in whatever color you like. I had a similar issue with the sofa in my basement rec room and my cat. I found the throws at Joann. If I'm having guests in that room, I just remove the throws for the time that they're there. I'm not sure a red chair would go with that rug.
