I'd do a charcoal grey colored couch. I like the 3rd swatch up (#5) from the bottom. I like #1 also.

Strong color is scary, ha, ha! I do like the idea of the darker color, seems to go better with the rug. I just don’t want to make the room dark.

Also like the idea of some sort of reddish brown leather in the room, either chair of ottoman table. What do you think?

Thanks! So, because I’m scared of the color, do you think the sofa in charcoal, an ottoman in leather, and the chair with the lighter textured/striped fabric would work? Or do you think the chair should have a bolder color and the Ottoman be either wood or fabric?

leather ottoman or pouf. below, slightly darker golden brown accent. you could find a subtle print that matches your rug colors too.

The pillows are from Pottery Barn. I actually bought them or year and a half ago because I really liked them, but did not know where they would be used. I guess this is it!

I've had the rug now for 4 months and love it! It vacuums very well. To be honest, at first I was surprised that the rug seems to "show" more crumbs/dirt. However, I think what is going on is that the crumbs are not settling into the fibers, they sit on top because of the way the wool is knotted. I can actually see that I've gotten everything with the vacuum, which is great. To avoid this, I need to get the kids to stop eating in the family room, but, our kitchen is under construction, so they get a pass, for now!

My husband did spill some coffee on it one day, and although I wouldn't recommend doing that :), it cleaned up rather well after blotting the coffee, then blotting again with a wet rag. Can't see a stain.

I'm doing the same in the kitchen as you, white cabinets, white/charcoal quartz, and the rug does pull it together well! I ended up with Agreeable Gray on the walls. It is more on the greige side, but I like that for my house and looks good with the rug. This is all still a work in progress, so anxious to see how it all comes together in the end! I think your couch will be fine!! I haven't bought it yet, but leaning towards doing an ottoman in a very similar leather color next to the grey couch.
