Comments (9)Thank you All for your help and advice!! It looks like I'm getting a mini crown after all! Now we just need to pick either #5 or #7. Can't wait for DH to mock them up tonight! :) oldhouse1: Thanks for your reply and vote! You're right, the Ogee crown is not paint matched yet; I agree that it will look better when it is. I just saw pics of your kitchen - it is Gorgeous!! I wanted to paint Tidaholm too (it's my favorite Shaker look - lovely, elegant stiles and rails), but we're on a shoestring budget. Love your cabinets' furniture feet, shelves with brackets and your ironstone collection (furniture feet and brackets under the cabinet ends have been on my wish list for DH, and I'm just starting my ironstone collection - I have one pitcher and creamer so far). In some places it looks like you did not use a side cover panel. How did you handle that? Did you leave the side as is, or maybe paint it and hide the space against the wall somehow? kmmh: Thank you for your reply! I'm leaning towards those two as well. Actually, more than leaning - it's officially down to just those two! :) chiefy76: #5 is one of my favorites! (It looks like DH has his work cut out for him - we're getting a crown, hooray!) Thanks so much for your vote!...See MoreAdd painted paneling?
Comments (13)I think you have to either have white walls and gray paneling or keep the walls the same color but then have the paneling match the trim. Three different colors in one room would otherwise be a bit busy in what looks to be a classic/traditional home. it also looks like there are a lot of openings into the room where the paneling would go. If I were you, I would probably NOT add the paneling because it might make the room A) look smaller and B) might be hard to have panels of the same size given the different lengths of each wall...See MoreWhich Microwave Drawer has a control panel facing up?
Comments (27)Haha...I guess having 3 types of appliances isn't a big deal. We are getting close to having to order our cabinets. After thinking about it over night, I think I will go with the Sharp drawer. I can fix the excessive beeping, and as phooneycat says, the drawer taking 3 seconds to open is not that much. About as long as it would take me to get a spoon. Does the door open automatically when done? I had asked about an upper microwave cabinet and now realize that it would have to be wider than the 13" width that I would have. Which means a wider base down to the counter top. I don't want to lose that counters top space, so we are back to a drawer. It's funny, because when we started out planning our house, and kitchen, I said that the one thing I would not have is a drawer microwave. It's nice that most of you love the microwave drawers. ;) The plus side of having the drawer is easy accessibility should DH or I become wheelchair bound at some point. We are building close to a ADA compliant home as we can, or feel comfortable with, for this stage in our life. We are 63 and 68 and are aging in place with our last home. Thank you all again!!!...See MoreDusty Cohen
