Are these leopard spots normal for Bona Traffic HD?

Are these leopard spots normal with Bona Traffic HD? Are they an adhesion failure or bubbles of some sort? They don’t look like part of the grain and are on random boards all over my floors.
Bona Traffic HD over DuraSeal stain, ill give more details in comments because I’m about to go meet the contractor but I don’t know if I should let him keep trying to fix issues (he had to fix it peeling on a board after the first 2 coats).
In these photos you can see on these 2 boards, its only happening on half of the board.

Comments (16)I have the same problem! It's so frustrating. We 104 year old white pine floors that we refinished and coated with Bona. A sealer and two coats. We used a sealer and two coats on the Doug fir floors elsewhere in our house and they are VERY smooth, the floor is like one continuum. We refinished maple floors in our former home - no problem there. The oak has tons of grain rise. So so bumpy. I thought it might be due to a) the large-ish gaps between most of the boards - the poly got thinned out as it sank into the holes and b) short cure time of the sealer since the weather was cool and damp. I lightly sanded between the coats of poly. Our plan is to buff, recoat and repete. Comments (31)So they came this morning to fix the floors. The owner of the company told our contractor he had the Bona training but the crew he sent today were the same three people we’ve had the whole time and the head guy said he has not had the bona training. He also told my husband they used 1.5 gallons of the traffic hd. For 1462 sq ft. Good grief. I think they should have used 3.5 gallons. From what we can see so far, it’s not improved. They buffed it three times and the floor looked awful after that - I’ll attach a pic. But he assured my husband it would look ok after the poly applied. So frustrated! Guess we’ll see tomorrow how it looks. They did buy a new roller. They did not ask us to turn the a/c off but my husband did. Comments (45)Y123,,I had to research it, but yes! Crayons make an excellent filler for small gouges or holes in resilient flooring. Select a colour that closely matches the floor. Melt the crayon in the microwave on medium power over a piece of greaseproof paper, until you have a pliant glob of colour. With a plastic or putty knife, fill the hole. https://www.woodshopnews.com/columns-blogs/filling-voids-knots-and-dents For smaller voids like thin cracks and pinhole knots, wax is great way to go. Wax comes in a variety of colors and a few hardnesses. For very small voids no larger than 1/16”, I like to use rub-in blending sticks. In a pinch, crayons will work. Simply rub it in or use a heat gun to melt the wax and drip it into the void. After it hardens in a few seconds, remove the surrounding smear by rubbing the wax flush with a hard block of wood wrapped in a cotton rag and a few drops of mineral spirits. Comments (2)I will add to what Timothy says. These stains can have LONG cure times. Some of them cure between 24-72 hours. That adds another 2-4 DAYS onto the refinish. And Bona Traffic HD MUST HAVE 5 days to achieve 99% cure. That is one day LONGER than what you have accounted for. Depending on the size of the refinish, your time line *might* look like this: *Assuming 1000sf of wood flooring: Day 1: Sanding with 2 passes; possibly three passes Day 2: Stain with ONE coat Day 3-5: Allow stain to cure (worst case scenario) Day 6: Apply coats 1 & 2 of Bona HD Day 7: Abrade and apply 3rd coat of Bona HD Day 8-12: Allow HD to cure Day 13: Move hard furniture back into the space. Day 43: (one month later) Add area rugs is *possible but not recommended Month 6: Area rugs are 100% allowed onto the floor Most wood professionals recommend area rugs be left out of the decor for 6 months. This allows any colour changes of the wood to be as even as possible (most wood fades...but some get darker). I am of the firm belief your 'move out' time line is too short. Remember: winter time is a time where floors take longer to cure. Even with all the windows open AND the heat PUMPING for 5 - 12 days, it can still take the LONGEST time frame for the floor to fully cure...not the shortest....See Morecat_ky
