rdas, Have you thougt about lighting? In my kitchen the lighting effects the color of my paint. My cabinets are a shade or so warmer than the bright trim throughout the rest of my house. But, the lighting that comee in from the windows changes the color of the cabinets throughout the day. Slightly of course. And at night the glow from the undercab lighting and the accent lighting also has an effect. My paints appear so close they look like they match. Only I know because I ordered different paint colors. Can I see a difference up close? Not really and this may be because they are by the same paint manufacturer and truly just a shade appart. You will be in a different situation because my cabs are painted and yours are custom ordered. I can only imagine the stress you are under trying to match. I also have the factor of the The Tan Coat wall paint color draws the eye away from whites fighting with each other. Sorry there are pieces of trim missing in this pic. Still trying to finish the kitchen. I hope this can give you an idea that whatever you do choose will probably be closer than you realize. We went through the same turmoil trying to make the trim decision. Our cabs are SW paint matched to BM White Dove which is similar to Alabaster. We are bright white gloss trim people. We painted scrap trim with white and some with White Dove in all the sheen options available (could have had a whole room painted for the cost of paint we bought to make this decision). Cabinets are satin sheen White Dove. In the end we went with Oil based semigloss White Dove trim for all crown/baseboards, and casing for doors and windows. We even went with White Dove ceiling paint. We like how it turned out. The white made our cabinets look yellowish or grayish depending on the lighting. For our White Dove choice, I just like how it all flows together. The different sheens provide the contrast for me. Good luck! Won't you be glad when all this is done? Remodel/new build decisions are not for the faint at heart!

Depends on the style of the home but I usually use Sherwin Williams trim paint as it comes- it is just a clean classic white (that can always be matched since it is off the shelf) I have satin trim and matte walls.
