Comments (22)Yes, Luvs, I've been adding a few witch things to my Halloween stuff. I'm really not into all the usual stuff like ghosts n goblins, jack o' lanterns, etc. but I do love witches and ravens. And of course witches have kitties. LOL. How neat, Kathleen, that you (and Candy) also got married in 1970. And Jane, you ate at the Outback too. ;o) Plus, Nana, some of us really like Dancing with the Stars. I think Candy previously nailed it about our Holiday gang having so many little things in common outside of just holiday decorating. Even the same furniture, or same figurines. Maybe this is why we seem more of a family, or a group of really long-time friends. Time, and distance, matters little it seems, some people are just meant to come into your life and make you feel like kindred spirits. I am always in awe of our group here, and the closeness/caring we share so easily with one another. I doubt any of us expected this when we found this Forum, we just wanted to share some Holiday decorating! ;o) By the way, here's the flowers Jas and Suz sent...and the two dolls I kept from my Mom's collection. These dolls come named, so that is Victoria on the left and Rebecca on the right. The photo is my Mom when she was in her early 20's, and the cat pair are very old figurines I found at an antique show about 25 yrs ago. (My mom loved cats) hugs, Karen...See Morea Halloween survey says....
Comments (14)I think the survey was flawed--there wasn't a box for "thinks taking the candy isn't stealing." I figure, I stayed up until 3 a.m. two nights in a row making a Penelope costume, I earned that candy! (My DD, age 14, went as Penelope--you know, Odysseus's wife? Those Greek chitons may have been simply rectangles, but they weren't as easy as they look--though of course if I'd started sewing before 10pm, I'd have been in bed earlier)...See MoreShare fall & Halloween outdoor decor!!
Comments (24)I have a carport (who in the South doesn't?) attached to my house. I refuse to let my hubby put a car in there though because I use it like an outdoor room. I put a pretty light fixture in the ceiling and I got an old, not-good-enough-for-indoor oriental rug to cover part of the poured cement floor. Where we live it's between two mountains so the ground is really hilly. The front part of the carport is at ground level and it's about 2 1/2' off the ground at the back side, which contains the door to my mud room. It's really cute and cozy out there. I have a rustic loveseat and an early American end table out there. I use four strings of Hallmark Boo Blinker pumpkin lights to string around the outside edges of the room and the two support pillars I cover with cornstalks. Then I put pumpkins and three big (10") pots of mums at the bottom of each cornstalk pillar. I buy all different color mums. I think it looks nice with the variety of colors instead of sticking to certain ones. Then I get two bales of hay and use one to make a scarecrow (and my hubby's old jeans and flannel shirt) and the other for the scarecrow to sit on. His head is a pumpkin. I also have other cute little Halloweenie decorations sitting around and then after Halloween is over I bring in the ones that are very obviously Halloween and leave the rest out there till Thanksgiving. (Don't get me started on the rest of the house we'll be here forever!) Then like a couple of big overgrown kids on Thanksgiving weekend my mother-in-law and I spend the weekend taking down the fall stuff and putting up the beginning of the Christmas decorations. :)...See Morenicole___
