The two Michaels are home

This may only be of interest to Canadians, but it is a story that touched me deeply. I'm not sure why. I also think that it is a story with many implications and political sub-text - probably way more that I can fathom.

Again, I'm not sure why it affected me so personally, but I am happy for them and their families.

I was also thrilled to hear this news and to see them back with their families after almost 3 years .

i dont know if the USA gave this much coverage.

I don’t watch much news on Saturdays, but my hoser I mean Canadian DH filled me in. (He’s not really a hoser, it’s just our family joke.)

We are forced to have a land line because our cell phones do not work where we live. We're on a lake, but in a metro area of 18 Million people, you would think Verizon would find a way to get us cell service at home! LOL!! From what I've heard on the news this morning about his insomnia, I'm not surprised MJ did not want a phone in his bedroom. However, nothing would surprise me about him anymore.....EXCEPT that maybe he wore a total head mask and he really looked like an older version of himself as a child. Now that would surprise me.

If you have the space to spare, you could set up a different room as a media room and keep the big black box out of the main living room (you could instead use that space to read books/play games/converse with your family and friends). Or you could have one space with a TV and one with a projector for movie nights, so you don't have a screen taking up wall space all the time. Whatever you do, do it because it works for your own actual family, not what someone else has done in a different house.

This story broke my heart from Day One. An absolute travesty that ordinary people should be treated as political pawns by people who do not give one hoot what happens to them. OTOH Canada gave every consideration to the Huwawei (sp?) heiress.

I was wondering if the two planes (one carrying the two Michaels from China and the other carrying Meng Wanzhou from Vancouver) waved wings at one another as they crossed over the Pacific. Although tonight the news said that Meng's plane completed avoided American airspace on the way from Vancouver back to China.

I'm thrilled that they're finally home. This should have been settled long ago.

mtn, watching 3 years of coverage, I have always got the feeling that they were targeted for no reason other than revenge and to get meng wanzhou released. In other stories where westerners were arrested in foreign countries, I have sometimes suspected they had shady dealings or otherwise did something that made them targets. In this case, I really feel they were blameless pawns.
