Thank you! I did not really think about the 3-wall alcove. Our tub would only hit 2 walls, then some space before you get to the toilet. I guess I am not sure if that would even work as we would want to just use a bath screen, but with no wall at the end, that could be problematic. I guess all of my previous bathrooms had the tub in a 3 wall alcove.

Well, you sort of have to use your imagination with this photo. It shows the tub location with a moderately sized window right over it. Widow is second floor and overlooks a lake, it's totally private. Put a pleated window shade over it, I think it's Hunter-Douglas? It's a top-down, bottom-up, which is great in a bath. If privacy was a factor, you can use the "bottom-up" feature to just have the shade cover the bottom half of the window, so you still have privacy while still maintaining a bit of the view and a bit of the natural light. We only have space for a very small window, but it beats no natural light at all. Ours will be very small and clear glass because there's no way anyone is seeing into it, but for the other bathrooms that don't have so much privacy I'm going to use an obscure glass similar to the "Minster" pattern in the link. I wish I could fit a full-sized window, I would go with clear glass and sheers. To be honest, I could find happiness in just about anything that wasn't glass block. Sometimes I feel like the only person alive who can't stand that stuff. Makes me feel all Miami Vice-ish, like I need to don a white silk pant suit and peach cami. I tend to think it doesn't get more timeless than "plain old glass". You can always apply a treatment or film if you want something different without the commitment.
