Friday Night Music - The World & Places In It Part 2
Comments (58)"Always cracked me up that when this song was popular, people would show up in Kokomo Indiana and ask where the beach was...one guy said he sent them to the sewer treatment plant!" The first full line is "Off the Florida Keys, there's a place called Kokomo". It's an imaginary location, it doesn't exist. Words and lyrical lines in songs, especially popular and rock and roll songs from the 60s-80s, often have no meaning or reference to real things at all. And can be nonsensical. All seats were reserved, and so people had to stay in their reserved spaces. I found the group a bit arrogant in their attitude toward the audience, and they said they were shocked when they walked the streets in New York and no one recognized them. They were appreciated in San Francisco but not idolized the way they were in England, and this was a disappointment for them....See MoreFRIDAY NIGHT MUSIC - Friday Night At The Movies
Comments (36)Here's a trivia fact for everyone: It's easy enough to assume that the song "The Man Who Shot LIberty Valence" was in the movie of the same name. It was written for the movie, but was not used. Gene Pitney.recorded the song and had success with it but it was not in the movie. The music track in the video linked to above is by Gene Pitney.....See More- 4 years ago
