jejvtr: I like the first link you showed, but the second one did not work. You are right the columns look similar. Perhaps you should leave them afterall, they are growing on me. It has a certain delicacy with the arched roof and you may change you mind also once the trim is painted different than the house color. Which is probably another reason my vote is for a non-white base color--to accentuate your lovely trimwork. I'm glad you are looking at other homes similar to yours for inspiration. When we were remodeling last year, I always kept a digital camera in my car and I would snap pics of features/colors/etc of houses I liked--usually while picking up or dropping off my kids from school or sports practices. I would try to drive a bit in the residential areas. Then when we were finalizing paint, I had my paint swatches with me and I would go up to houses which I liked and compare paint swatches. Once you and your DH find an inspiration pic I think this is helpful to narrow down to an actual color. You will always see things we don't, like lighting and how it works from various angles. What does DH think? Still white/red?

IMO your furniture flooring all drive wall color and a W facing space will be hot in the afternoon so plan on some solar shades too I have no idea what highly reflective walls would even be a choice. As for what white you need to test with poster boards painted with 2 coats and moved all around the spaces. Make sure all the lighting is in before choosing wall color and all lighting LEDs in 4000K. I aslo would have suggested no higher than 10’ for ceilings but too late for that.

Let me see if I can show you some of our home samples and how we are tying the color options available with the swiss coffee, cityscape blue grey along with natural cedar accents of our home exterior. I tried to flow similar colors through out to tie everything together. In the top left corner, you should see "beige looking" square next to a small dark blue card...that's the swiss coffee(main color of home) and cityscape blue grey color(accent on garage/gables) that will be on our exterior. The city scape will also be the main color of our cabinets too. Everything else you see are varying selections we made for counter tops and backsplash which I tried to organize in such a way to see how the colors play off one another. right corner(kitchen cabinets: white island and blue grey uppers/lowers) cement countertops with random mosaic white backsplash. The large square at the top is our LVP flooring we are putting down through out the entire house. Middle: "gre-ige" square: Benjamin Moore San Francisco Fog paint through out no accent paint colors left bottom corner: Blue light grey tile for guest bath tub/shower surround and white grey looking tile is the grey swirl marble countertops that will be in both guest bathroom but will be our cultured marble style for our shower. Hope this makes sense and helps you get some ideas. :D

Designers are not dictators, they just realize this fact,, and it is always about maximizing what one has, and minimizing that which one does not have. In this case, it is abundant natural light and a "coastal feel" . This is what Serena and Lily is known for. It appeals in their catalogue and on their site. When you look at both, note the natural LIGHT, and the obvious seaside feel. Just as we don't generally make locales such as that into dark and cozy, furry bowers, the reverse also holds true. I'll just say a prayer that the ivory ground print comforter set finds a home OTHER than this bedroom, or I missed something up here prior. It will appear a disjointed and disappointing complement to the paper you have to have. Sigh................deeply lol. Add tons of clean white...... WHAT MADE YOU LOVE THIS PAPER?? Answer: The Abundant, simple, WHITE. The bedding: ) A room only needs one show stopper. Don't dilute the effort. this below? Not so much..... apologies.
